You could have the Koppai trio work together with Hocotate pair; you could have a nice bit of fun in the clash between the seemingly scientific driven values of Koppai and the more capitalist centric seeming ones of Hoctate. Afterall Olimar knows the most about the remaining Earth artefacts of anyone I'd imagine.

Also five leaders, with an increase to the amount of Pikmin that can follow you, could prove outstanding. imagine having two different ships land on different places on the map with different onions carrying different Pikmin. The gamepad's benefits to control would be the best opportunity for nailing an attempt at that.

That would be amazing. Your main goal would be to recover artifacts from around Earth, like say the pyramids, the great wall, Japan, America, europe, etc.

They should make a Toad game with like lots of explosions and tits and like a bad ass story /end predictable video game tropes 101.

That sounds sounds very enjoyable for sheer level diversity - though I'd push that the artefacts you found in said tombs included tourists smart-phones for humour and sociological undertones akin to 3's environmental ones

Also I am going to be honest, I did a double take their before I finished your idea read because the first time I read it I mistakenly thought you were suggesting the pyramids would be one of things they recovered. - As strong as Pikmin are I don't think two thousand onions would be enough to provide a population that could pick up the pyramaids...

I kinda want to do the math now to find how many Pikmin you'd need. XD

Haha I should've worded it better. But yea that would be hilarious. I mean that ship seems to be able to suck up just about anything no matter the size...

um, they did this more because of all the feedback they got from people on how much they enjoyed this minigame. Personally I found the minigames really fun and I am interested. I also know that this game will probably not cost the full retail price.

I don't recall saying anything about tits. As is, this game is a pretty predictable Nintendo game so what's the harm in changing it up?

I have a theory that it converts things into energy, and that is why the juicing process looks like we're watching it on the ship's monitor. Because its happening in cyber-space.

Primarily that the game was begged for as is.

If it does well or scores well then making games based on adaptions to its formula would be awesome; but given how many of us begged on Mii-Verse for Nintendo to turn the Captain Toad levels into a full game there would likely be backlash if they broke away too much from what they originally made. - I know I'd be annoyed, I value the idea of there being more games like this one, and if indies, or third parties, or Nintendo, or Sony, or Microsoft were to make games based on exploring the basics of the core ideas here I'll be delighted; as long as its not at the expense of changing this from what I freakin' begged for. That would make Nintendo like the worst Dom ever!

I strongly value new ideas and do believe that series need to stay fresh, but this series hasn't even had a game yet, just an accidental demo that lead to its creation. Changing it too far would get a fairly dark death glare from consumers.

You're clearly a smart guy, you should realize that the colder/angry responses you're getting are from people who feel like they fought for Nintendo to hear our desire for this game to happen; that means its formula not only wowed us, but in many cases we're defensive of it because we feel we fought for Nintendo to stand up and take notice of the incredible formula they'd made. - Despite the fact its gonna be a small-fry title, those of us who absolutely loved it's progenitor will defend it from suggestions of extensive alteration like you were suggesting Banjo-Threeie be about cars. XD

Yea I get that people really wanted it, but from what I've seen of it it seems really simplistic, I don't see why people would be mad with a little more depth and mechanics added. Like you said or suggested this is more expressing ideas to expand the new games they bring out for the future.

Call me crazy but I'm actually going to see how the game turns out before wishing it was something else.

We already know what it is.

I said how it turns out, not what it turns out to be, they aren't the same thing.

People these days seem to think they can know absolutely everything they need to know about a game, down to it's likely Metacritic score, from the moment they see a reveal trailer.  I think it's just a side effect of big publishers throwing advertising money and marketing weight behind their latest and greatest from the outset in efforts to convince us it's the next big thing (crucially) before anyone's even gotten their hands on the game. It's a smart move in a business with high stakes and high failure rates. While we can learn a good deal from apperances you just have to look at the reveals of Watch Dogs versus Super Mario 3D World to see the problem with taking this too far.  The former hailed from the outset as likely game of the generation material, the latter as unimpressive and derivative.  Now Watch Dogs isn't bad by any stretch but there is no doubt about which game received greater critical acclaim.

What Nintendo is good at doing is taking a simple idea and stretching it to it's limits, that is afterall all Mario Kart is. I think the Toad levels in SM3D World were great and unique so I'm interested to see how a game built around that mechanic turns out.  I have my doubts that it can be stretched to a whole game but I'm still curious.  Curious enough that I don't want or think there is a need to try to make this bigger than it appears, or try to turn it into something else.

This is clearly just a side project for EAD and I'm all for smaller, unique projects to diversify the software landscape, laziness doesn't necessarily have anything to do with it.  Big budgets and big risk often have the effect of dulling creative expression, keeping things small, the converse. While I like adventure games as much as the next guy I realise that not everything needs to be big budget and open world.

Ah; well the thing is the simplistic charm and sheer depth of the Captain Toad levels was what gave them its punch. Its one of those things, like many shooter and platformers, which benefits immensely from strong level design being informed by the players simple limitations.

This game is meant to exploit one of Nintendo's percieved strengths, namely the willingness to offer titles like that which are still aimed at core gamers, when the industry as a hole is moving away from them. Its all about strategy on Nintendo's part. The game is releasing against the backdrop of Smash Bros, Bayonetta, and Hyrule Warriors.
