Forums - Nintendo - Project Cars WII U confirmed DirectX 11 runs in 720 p 30 FPS

Interesting... I'm slightly skeptical, but if this true, then SMS have really done a great job.

I'd like to see some Wii U gameplay now.

Hardware owned:

PC, PS4, 3DS, Wii, Xbox 360, PS3

Most anticipated games (near to mid future):

Zelda U/NX
The Last Guardian

30fps doesn't bother me really as long as it maintains a constant 30. But the delay bothers me a bit. I may skip out on this game even for PS4/XBO considering there are other options out there for those consoles.

30fps is just fine with me

I would choose DX11 over 60fps any time, so it is the right choice in my opinion, not to mention that most will not even notice

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

At this point the only thing that will salvage this game for me is very effective use of the gamepad.

Expectations are low.

They should allow WiiU users to either play 720p 30 or with a lower resolution but with 60fps. I mean they delay it so they have enough time to implement that.
TBH every game developer should do this in every game on every platform.

Let people decide whether they want graphics or gameplay.

I mean this here is a 480p screen of ProjectCars that I upscaled to 1080p (so I basically did what your TV does to 480p games)

Looks sufficient imho

There are some key difference you should be aware of.

That image was never rendered at 480p to begin with. It was rendered at a higher resolution, and scaled down, which buys it free anti-aliasing.

Your TV also does not upscale every frame with bicubic smoothing, which is most likely what your image software used.

An image rendered in 480p on a Wii U and upscaled real-time to 720p or 1080p would never look that nice.

I already mentioned in a later reply that AA will make it almost look like that.  Native 480p is always ugly.

If it's a rock solid 30fps this will not put me off.....
Anyway, wasn't Watch Dogs PS4 30fps?

30fps? Lol and I'm confirmed to no longer give a flying shit about this game.

But it looks AMAZING!

I can't tell if this is sarcasm. First, we don't know how it looks. Second, it's a game; it's meant to play good first. 30fps does not play good.

Who cares if it's 30fps. 30fps is still very playable

Did you skip any games last gen because of 30 fps?

Were there any games that were so good you didn't let the frame rate bother you?

I agree 60 fps is much better, but I still find 30 very playable. Just curious to know if there were any games that made you forget about frame rate.

720P 30FPS !?

This is a no-brainer! NEVER BUY 720p 30fps games for WiiU!! WE still need to prove were better than PS3!
