Retro hasn't been good in over a decade.

I'm not sure if you're making a joke about the term "retro" or if you actually believe Retro Studios has only made a single good game. That game being Metroid Prime in 2002.  All of their other games have been made in the past ten years; with the lowest rated on Metacritic being Tropical Freeze with an 83. In fact general consensus says that's the "worst" game they've ever made. And it lost a few points simply because it wasn't Metroid.

I think some of you guys are overreacting.. Maybe Retro is just providing the assets like they did with MK7 if this rumor is true..

I hope its not true because what the WiiU need atm is NOT another "kiddie-looking" game...

Metroid Prime 2 is better than the first ,Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is on par with DKC: 2

So no, they are as fantastic as ever.

Anyone who believes that's a kiddy game that gamers can live without simply hasn't played the sheer excellence that diddy kong racing was.The big overworld, the secrets, the three different kind of vehicles, the right amount of challenge. The detail and work put on this title was and still is staggering.Miles above Mario Kart 64.

Wii U already has Mario Kart 8 and Sonic Racing Transformed. Another addition to the stable would be a waste of manpower that could have gone towards filling a niche that's not already full.

Mario Kart sells more than 10 million copies each iteration (on competitive consoles), I wouldn't call that a niche.

Anyway I'd like Retro to do something else as well, but going by your logic I would be much more pissed because of Yoshi Wolly World and Kirby Rainbow Course, THAT is a waste of manpower. We already have 2 flavours of Mario, Donkey, Rayman plus indie games plus Mario Maker and Toad are in development as well, does the WiiU really need more platformers?

Diddy Kong Racing was the best and hardest single player racing game I played in my life. Especially the Adventure mode full of hidden secrets, boss races, and the struggle to 100% the game were great fun.

While the single player mode was much better than any Mario Kart, the multi player was not good at all and had no chance compared to Mariokart 64 battle mode.

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse is a waste of time.

But neither of those games are wasting the time of an elite studio like Retro that can do so much more.
