That's your opinion and i will report you if you continue to say people who like achievements/trophies are sad or not true gamers. Quit the bullshit assumptions. We get that you don't like them, that's your opinion not a fact.

Don't put word in my mouth that i didn't say! I never said that I don't like those gamers, I just said that it's sad that they care so much about these trophies which are in my opinion useless or I will report you ;)

You will report me for what, not liking your overuse of winking? I'll let the mods deal with you as you're not gonna contribute to the topic i see.

Frankly you're both being rather immature, DarkTriForce and Bubblegamer. Knock it off.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I contribute to the topic, you are the one here who has nothing else to do than putting words in my mouth that i didn't say just because you can't accept my opinion!!!

yep.
Before I collected trophies I rarely used to play on the hardest difficulty.
Since I became a trophy hunter, almost all the games I play I play on the hardest difficulty and I get all the collectibles and unlock a lot more of the game.

I dont understand the hate for trophy hunters considering they are more likely to have played a wider range of games, are more skillful (on average), and contribute more financially to the industry.

The way I think about people who disagree with trophy hunting is similar to the way I think of people who disagree with playing games. You might say trophies are pointless, but so is gaming in general.... you still do it dont you?

I cannot say I have any appeal to trophies or achievements. I waste enough time of my life as it is.

I'd say so

Here's a better example of why I'd say so.

I think It's the longest running thread on VGChartz.

I definitely wouldn't try cash out on that one
PS Vita thread has probably double the trophy thread

But your point is exactly it though. It shows that it does matter it adds another level to the game

Ah touche'.  That's quite a bit longer... which is what she said I believe.

you completely beat me to the punch :( lol

Being that I'm 34, I don't think my opinion is fair because I grew up without them so the idea of beating the games themselves being the "achievement", isn't that bad for me. But I use to love them at first. I still think they're cool and add a lot to games, but I don't need them anymore.

I'll be happy when Nintendo gets them because that's the only console I have, but meh, if the game is fun, you don't even miss them.

It kinda makes me wish they had them when I was a kid, would be fun to look at what trophies I earned when I was playing DKC, Mario Kart, or Mario World back in the 90s.

Agreed. Another great aspect of them is being able to look back and see which games you've beat, I'd love to be able to look back and remind myself of what I accomplished on some great old games.

Not to get into the whole "back in MY day" thing but, BACK IN MY DAY (lol), which was the 80's, games were so difficult and challenging, you didn't need trophies to feel good about yourself or create memories. Just seeing the credits at the end of P.O.W. or Contra was cool enough. I can still remember the feeling we had after beating Zelda 2. It was by far more thrilling than any Platnium I ever got.

Beating Kid Icarus on a real NES will put hair on your balls. haha
