i can accept that online multiplayer requires an internet connection,.. there is an obvious reason for the need for an online connection and an obvious benefit in certain types of gameplay.

if ms wants to do cloud processing they better be able to communicate a clear reason and obvious benefit.

and lol and those trying to link psnow steaming as an additional method to purchasing games to the idea of cloud processing being integrated into a game's single player mode making an internet connection the only option. if you can see such a massively, significant difference between the destiny dlc vs the dozens of other platform exclusive content coming in the next year surely you can see the difference here...

You should be laughing at the OP. The Cloud and its resources need to have internet access to work. M$es Cloud processing and Sony's Cloud both need internet and DRM to work. Hence why PS Now comes into the subject. If I want to use PS Now Cloud, I need to be connected through DRM. If I want to play an Xbone game with Cloud support, I need to be connected through DRM to work.

Still missing the point that ps now is optional. MS plans for everything to be drm mandatory.

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

Well I'm glad Sony doesn't require always on for PS Now for their Cloud solution. Ohhh wait... You need to be always online to read the Cloud. Silly me, but it's ok if Sony does it. Boooo M$ always online Cloud.

So you mean to tell me that you don't know the difference between streaming a game over the internet like you would with movies on netflix and buying a game from a store but being unable to play it unless you were connected to the internet?

If that is really the case then well..... I'm sorry I guess.

To OP: I never thought that would have been the last we would hear about internet restricted DRM from MS. I feel its still what they are ultimately trying to do, just too much money in doing it for them to be able to ignore it. They just went about it the wrong ay last year and now I think they will take it a lot slower.

What I believe they want to do with all this cloud talk is to find a way to split the actual running code of games in such a way that some of that game cwould need/benefit from running off their servers. If they can successfully do this and have games incorporate whatever it is they do, then they would get gamers to need the cloud service. Kinda like how gamers are now paying for online multiplayer. I hope they don't succeed though, cause if they do then it will mean sony will be following too.

Do you not know that PS Now uses Cloud and you need to always be connected to use it? There is no difference in MS Cloud processing and PS Now emulation when it comes to internet being always connected.

VGChartz♥♥♥♥♥FOREVER

Xbone... the new "N" word   Apparently I troll MS now | Evidence | Evidence

this isnt PR they need right now.

but it absolutely confirms my decision to get a ps4 and make it my main system was the right one.

nothing wrong with a game requiring online if it improves the game. People don't complain about having to be online for multiplayer. Plus, this obviously wouldn't apply to every game. If they can do destruction on the levels shown in the crackdown tech, then I'm on board for the online requirement...

Ps now is a side service. You can still buy the games and play them offline.

If microsoft do start to boost their Ips with cloud computing, people will have the choice to not buy the games that requires constant online though

Yep exactly. Where are all the people complaining about the online requirement in demon's souls, dark souls, and dark souls 2?

and yet and extrodinarily massive difference in that psnow is one possible game purchasing option along side digital downloads and physical retail releases where as cloud processing affects all purchasing options limiting consumber choice either always online or .... ... ..

...playstation.

I find it ironic how people who are online all day complain about something being online all the time.

Maybe people don't want their games turning to paper weights after Microsoft pulls support of the console.

PSNow - rent a PS3 (or older) game and stream it to your console, handheld, tablet, TV...and whichever device.

MS Cloud - Buy an XOne game disc, disconnect console from internet, use disc as a coaster.
That was an idea 14 months ago, that is obviously still alive, despite the series of desperate 180s. Once they lose all hope at seriously expanding the user base, they will have nothing to lose by milking existing users for more money.
Had people with enough common sense not started ridiculing them, that would already be the case, with those few "true fans" still finding a reason to defend Microsoft.

My guess it will start slowly, by mandating cloud saves and unlocking achievements only while online, by offering "better experience" while connected then silently taking away the "worse experience" option, by justifying another subscription fee increase because of all the new features.
It will be up to the XOne user base to resist at that time, because I doubt that the internet will fight their fight again for the second time.

lol that is much misconception and biased opinion for a so small sentence.

You know cloud feature != drm. you will still be able to buy sell used games.
Cloud feature does not mean that the game will be online only (look at forza 5).
And stop acting like you know everything that Microsoft as planned. The only result you'll get is your opinion being discredited
