Don't know why people care so much about ports of games they do not want...
I for once, might buy it since I did not have a chance last year and I did like heavy rain alot.

Okay This would just piss people off, I mean this would put a shit stain on their reputation for being greedy as shit in my opinion because they could. Have just made ps4 compatible to play those games!

This is more of a reason to not have backwards compatibility.

I think it's more to do with developers spending their time remastering a series rather than making brand-new games.

An idea common among those who have a limited grasp of the industry.
A remaster as opposed to a collection is not that much of a drain on resources. Which is why the majority of these arguments fail. I.e its not remaster vs new game, its remaster vs nothing
Hell, even a Demo is arguably more intensive then a rerelease.
Look how long it took for KH3 to simply go into production vs the release of KH 1.5 which was not only a collection but a remaster that basically involved recreating whole assets as opposed to slapping a new texture onto them.

Oh I know that remasters aren't nearly as time-consuming as new games, but I think you give a big disservice to the devs when you say demos are easier to develop. With a remaster, you're still having the team updating certain portions of the game and optimising it for the new generation. You make it sound like it's just a direct port, which it's not. It still requires manpower and time, even if it may be just a fraction of developing a game outright.
And look, I respect that you're an indie developer, but your posts come along as a little on the smug side. Just because most of us don't design games doesn't make us ignorant.
