I really don't see how nintendo won by so much. Then again I can't argue with 144K votes.

Good for nintendo, lesson to everyone else? maybe its time to stop doing live conferences and start doing pre-recorded sessions instead and generally show less games. Should make for an all out focused showing.

Well I would rather want to see 15-30 minutes of actual gameplay of several games, than a bunch 2 minute CG trailers.

Nintendo fans are the majority on the Internet. Or gaming sites anyway.

sony won last years vote by a landslide

There goes your theory

No it doesn't. Sony fans didn't build that win, MS/XB1 hate did. And that puts Sony and Nintendo fans together.

Heck, it put Sony and Xbox fans together too.

Youre trying too hard...

And I don't see how Sony won last year. I touched upon this in a previous post in this topic.

The winner in these polls will always be the company that catered best to IGN's voting audience. I mean, the thing about these polls is that only likes matter. The pople that voted for Sony and Microsoft might have completely hated Nintendo's showing, but this isn't shown in the poll because the majority liked it. If there were countervotes, the whole thing would probably look different.

They didn't really, it was a poor E3 for everyone in general. They just "won" by direct opposition to MS. Basically, it was a mindset victory.

And now we don't hate IGN anymore!

Nintendo without doubt got the most positive, and the loudest reactions during and after the event. If that how "winning E3" is defined, then Nintendo without doubt won. However, this way of "winning" has much to do with expectations from the fans, leaked info, early reveals, in addition to the event itself.

Many, many people miss the whole "point" because of this kind of excitement. How many would have claimed that Microsoft won if Halo 5 was first introduced during this conference?  Even though the conference itself wouldn't have changed at all.

With that being said. Nintendo did a great job to please the fans.

. IGN readers got it right

This is actually quite relevant. Recent sales trends like The Last of Us, PS4 vs XBOne vs Wii U, Watch_Dogs and others have shown that hype and interest matter. Nintendo clearly scored a win here, and I think it will result in better sales going forward.

This is monumental levels of surprising.
