Timed exclusives and content are great for the console makers, but bad for the publishers, developers and gamers.

I'd rather this than have to wait a whole month. People constantly downplay the PS exclusive stuff anyway, so it won't matter right :)

i'm used to platform exclusive games.  i'm used to platform time exclusive games.  i'm used to regionally exclusive games. i'm used to platform exclusive dlc.  i'm used to retailer exclusive dlc.  i'm used to pre-order exclusive dlc.  i'm used to time exclusive dlc.  i'm used to games having exclusive marketing or exclusive bundles.  i'm used to buying games digitally.   i'm used to buying my dlc digitally.  i'm used to dlc being large expansions packs.  i'm used to dlc being tiny micro-transations.  i'm used to playing for dlc.  i'm used to games getting free dlc.  hell, i'm used to patches being required just to make a game playable.

so break it down for me.  really, what's different from the last 10+ years?  explain to me the moral outrage you're feeling over a costume pack.  show me that ever so carefully choosen perspective where this molehill looks like a mountain.  perhaps i'm just jaded because as a ps3 owner i had the shit end of the stick for all of last gen but i don't see any grounds for you to complain for sony following suit to ms's tatics.

How do they get less? The DLC is the same for both right? Xbox just gets it later right?

so do you think that this is going to be this gens timed dlc?

This can either go one of three ways.

1. Like Assassins creed has been doing so far, console exclusive but eventually comes to PC.
2. Truely timed dlc
3. Actually exclusive DLC but a placeholder term incase sony & bungie partnership doesn't work out some time before the expiration.

LOL @ announcing all of this and expansions already before the fucking beta is even out though.

This. Just when i try to get exited about this game. They come up with more shitty decisions and PR. *facepalm*

Oh yea, time DLC precedes this gen.

technically the expansions were leaked when the bungie/activision contract was leaked before the game was even announced...

hum..no. it's the same thing, you also get the same. the difference is that the time table is much larger here, instead of 30 days.
