Forums - Gaming - Ubisoft: "Whatever", to those against it's DLC practices.

They are smart to do it like this.. I compare it to my governments tax increase on cigarettes. You do it in very small and frequent steps. It is not a big enough deal for a massive uproar because its only a dollar or two at the time. People notice it but they just dont organize anything because it is such a trivial amount or in this case a small feature in a game previously free which becomes paid. Once the next game comes out people have gotten used to the old pay wall and it is already considered not to be a norm.. Just look at how quickly people stopped complaining about overpriced dlc in download form even if they had a standalone physical expansion beforehand which generally offered much more value. I rhink the next step will be for the battlefields and call of duties to implement a complete f2p system while still charging you 60 bucks.. In 5 years time im sure it will be a reality.

you guys realllly need to stop treating singleplayer timesaver packs as if its content adding dlc.

if you dont want to burn through the game and be spoon fed the solution, dont buy a time saver pack, simple as that.

Agreed, but they should have some kind of loader/unloader system for GOTY editions which come will all DLC on-disc, and auto-installed.  Having the option to turn it off isn't really asking much.

It's not so much the time saver packs that I have the issue with, Tamron, it's the attitude Ubisoft displays. If they feel this way about their consumers on something this small, imagine how they feel about the consumer regarding actual full price DLC.

"You should be banned. Youre clearly flaming the president and even his brother who you know nothing about. Dont be such a partisan hack"

OMG Ubisoft is becoming terrible....

I still like a lot of thier games, but i'm worried that may not last long.

You have yet to answer my question. Why just not create a easy mode that does that? You know its already in the game and it be switched off and on with a single change. They have been up front with saying, we know there are people who dont like to play the game the way it is intended, so why just not include this feature in the easy mode.

I disagree with their DLC practices when it comes to Nintendo platforms... I understand they make money on Just Dance DLC (I know they pay around 10k per song they license), but even when their game sells profiting amounts and they don't release the DLC for other games it just grinds my gears. I would have loved the DLC for ACIV on my Wii U but obviously there wasn't any coming so I traded in my copy for another game.

If there was resistance they would change it. You forget ACIV almost had an online pass. Consumers resisted and Ubisoft respectively changed it.

Not only you admit that you're going to put DLC in every game you can because "it's accepted", but you also ignore those costumers who don't like their games chopped in pieces, saying they are not a problem. Nice Ubisoft. Nice.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Good point, cheers for that.

im going to say this,  one more time.

the "attitude"  you are reffering to,  when IN CONTEXT,  is reffering to ONLY the previous titles time saver packs,  when asked if they encountered any resistance,  he states they did not,  other than a few individuals,  in which case,  IN CONTEXT TO THE QUESTION POSED,  his PERSONAL OPINION of if time saver packs faced any resistance is whatever,  and quite rightly so.

I cannot make it any clearer to you,  don't take the comment out of context,  and don't attibute an entire companies attitude to the opinion of one person on a very minor topic.
