Forums - Gaming - Ubisoft: "Whatever", to those against it's DLC practices.

Doesn't bother me. If there are lazy asses willing to pay money to avoid playing the game, every company should take advantage of them. Just like Battlefield selling weapon shortcuts for 3-4 dollars, for those that don't want to bother leveling up.

The only reason companies continue to do it is because there are people willing to pay. And I support them in spirit, they are surely not getting any of my money.

What's the problem? Want to play AssCreed 4? You can.

Want to save some time exploring and just have everything displayed on the map for you? Pay $1.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

$1 to reveal the items. I don't see the big deal. If you don't buy it, it doesn't affect the game in the slightest. It's where it affects gameplay where I draw the line.

time saver packs are not dlc.

just ask yourself what the c in dlc stands for.

It's not even the "C" that you're getting, it's the "DL", which isn't even true.  The content is already there and you're paying for "C"ode.

We're not just talking the time saver nonsense; apply this to all DLC if you will, it's about how Ubisoft views the culture of DLC, not just this particular piece.

"I think there are some models that are accepted now. DLC is pretty much accepted," Early said. "Season pass is pretty much accepted. Now it's interesting when you start to think of Season Pass as a Service Pass. For our Season Pass holders, I know we hold events for them specifically, so it's little bit more than just DLC content. So there's an evolution going on there."

once again you are not buying anything that cannot be obtained through nornal play,  no special ability,  item,  map or so on,  you are simply shortening the game.

and no im not going to take their comment and apply it to something else,  context is important,  taking it and applying it to something completely different is obsurd.

What do you possibly gain from purposely telling people to take a comment out of context other than to sound like someone forcing an agenda?

Did you actually read the article, or at least my added quote?

Wonder how long until people can pay for trophies and achievements to be automatically unlocked

indeed i did,  but your topic focuses on them saying whatever,  that response was aimed specifically at the complete lack of uproar over time saver packs being offered,  nothing beyond that.

context,  use it.

also i dont see you quoting this,  i wonder why.

"Where it hurts is when you feel like you're forced, or you're at a disadvantage or can't do it unless you [pay money]. That's kind of a remorseful feeling, and nobody likes that."

It's a lot like Nintendo's Super Guide. The fact that it exists for some should not upset others, though Ubisoft, unlike Nintendo, is making people pay for their Super Guide. So...

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Yeah, I didn't quote the corporate jargon Ubisoft regeritates to put you at ease, to lead you into the idea that they give a damn about how they treat you.  If you honestly thing these folks feel that way solely about the time saver packs, you're naive.

It's when you use words like "whatever" to describe the CONSUMER'S feelings that I quote you.
