I always chose to play as a black female when given the change. I'm a black guy and my wife, who's white, actually questioned me about it. I told her it's because there isn't a single game with a black female lead character. I'm more liberal than she (she's uber-conservative) and it lead to a short political discussion. In the end though I continue to play as these characters much to the chagrin of the wife lol.

You may be gay if you choose the male avatar as a male player. Who does not like watching a half naked girl jumping around and slaying monsters. Even in games like Tales of Xilia, I see no reason to choose the boy at all.

A sexy female character model and I'm sold. Any game where I can create a female and I'm in (except Dark Souls II because the women look like guys with lady heads). Even the old WWE games that let you make a girl and wrestle guys--I always made a female character. I like looking at sexy women, too.

I only play with female characters in MMORPGs cuz stupid guys will hit on my character and give me free stuff. Otherwise, since I'm a male I relate better with a male character in the game. This is not the case with everyone because lifestyle choices are too vast. So in the end, it's still a game so it doesn't matter if your main character is male or female as long as the plot is strong and the game fun. Like in FF3 (aka FF6) Terra is the female lead and it is perhaps the best FF game in the series. I don't mind if the lead character is either male or female, I just would create a male for me if given the choice.
