Considering 31% of PS4 owners have come from Wii/X360 this is a great opportunity for those gamers to play this game.

Wow I wish I could know who bought what system last gen and that they bought PS4 this gen.  How do you do it?!

Pretty easy if you just count new PSN accounts created and PS+ subscriptions.

Its not that easy a lot of people started from scratch with the PS4 and I'm pretty sure the same thing applies with the X1.

I'm pretty sure almost NO ONE (or very small amount) would start from scratch. What a ridiculous thing to suggest.

There are a lot of people that didn't earn a lot of achievements or trophies and most of those started from scratch to assume its only a very small amount is also ridiculous.

I see your point.. but to be honest most people don't want to go through the trouble of re registering a new account. It's pretty simple but it's still an inconvenience and it seems highly probable that most would just log in with their existing account. Absolutely no point in making a new one. & it has absolutely nothing to do with trophies or achievements. I mean some will restart, sure. Like someone else pointed out, that group is likely to be very small. I mean just look at most groups of friends, everyone I know is now on the PS4 and we were all on 360 last gen. So many of the new accounts are literally new accounts.

They must also not understand the point of Wind Waker HD, GTA V on PS4/XBone or GoTY Editions.

Actually I don't see anyone really complaining about those, but PS4 is winning right now, so TLoU warrants complaining, since it costs $50, just like WWHD and actually less than your typical GoTY Edition.

Just ignore those people.

1. Wind Waker HD is NOT a remaster, it is a complete remake of a game over a decade old.

2. GTA V at least manages to look different. Screenshots of TLOU remastered look almost identical to the PS3 version. And I'm not a big fan of the GTA V remaster either.

And overall, remastering a game just a year old is complete overkill and an obvious money-grab, especially when it looks almost identical to the original.

1. WW HD is a remake...cool. Who cares if its a remake, if people want it...then they want it. Who cares how old it is, if people want it they want it, end of story. This applies to all things, if people want something they buy it. Its pretty straight forward.

2. Ummmm....look up video comparisons between TLoU PS3 and PS4. The PS4 version looks MUCH more crisp and detailed. Why are you talking about a picture during a cutscene? What is that going to prove? Its the gameplay that's going to show the difference, not a pre-rendered cutscene. But go ahead, keep thinking both versions will look the same. The game releases in about 3 weeks or so, we'll see then won't we?

And overall its the people, not the person, who drive sales and ultimately decide what is worth their time and money so no need to be a drama queen and call something complete overkill when a product actually reaches out to as many new customers as TLoU Remastered does. This game is big and will pay for a chunk of U4's developement cost and people will be introduced/re-visit a game that many consider to be one of the best of 7th gen consoles. If people want it, they buy it.

But people can already play The Last of Us.  What about the people who have a PS4 or are going to get a PS4 but don't want The Last of Us, the 80 million who don't want the game on PS4 yet already have access to it.  Beyond Two Souls and the Uncharted series are potentially being ported too.

A brand new game would be something those who want The Last of Us as well people who don't want The Last of Us or don't want t o purchase it again.  While a The Last of Us port will only satisfy those who want The Last of Us, a game they already have potential access to.  Even if they're a Microsoft or Nintendo fan, they can always purchase a Microsoft or Nintendo console.  The usual reason that people buy consoles, because there's an exclusive they really want to play.

You and all the other people defending all these ports are pretty much, let's just worry about the fraction of people who want The Last of Us for the PS4 and don't worry about the audience who want new games.  If this was Microsoft, all the Sony fanboys in this thread would be bashing the hell out of the Xbox One.

There are plenty of new games coming to the PS4, as well as remastered games for those people who want them.

The above sentence is the reality you and others like to overlook in order to moan (or troll). You and others seem to be labouring under the notion that you can't have both older titles and new titles.

1. A remake is completely building a game from the ground up to work on a new console. A remaster is optimising a game to run on a new console.Big difference. People will buy it, sure, but that doesn't change the fact that it's a remaster of a game just one year old.

2. There's a bit more "crispness", but overall hardly any difference worth remastering the game just one year after its release.

Yes, if people want it, they will buy it. Power to them. It also means for others that advertising costs, developmental costs, etc. are going towards a year old game that is being re-released as a money move.

Wind Waker HD is NOT a complete remake! A complete remake would have been built from the ground up (which takes much more time and resources than Nintendo put in it) and wouldn't have the same glitches as the original:

They added and optimized some stuff (different lighting shaders, faster travelling speed by boat, inventory position), but if that counts as "complete remake", then every Skyrim- or GTA-MOD is a complete remake. Adding minor stuff as stereoscopic modes and trophies (additional to higher resolution and anti-aliasing) for remastered games from PS2 to PS3 or adding touchscreen input for MGS 2 + 3 on the Vita would also count as "complete remakes" with that logic.

Now that's a fancy way of saying "port".

Nothing is ever a "complete remake" in that case. Nintendo included glitches more as an easter-egg, but overall the updated effects, textures, meshes, etc were complketely redone. Make it essentially a new game.

As I've stated plenty of times.  Only four titles that I can't play on my PS3 from launch until well into 2015.  Then there's how all exclusives don't interest everyone, so for me, only two out of those four I even care about ever trying out.  Unlike the Wii U which had over 10 exclusives from it's launch to the same time frame, and those were only NIntendo exclusives or moneyhatted exclusives and not including the others.  Nintendo is actually giving their fanbase games to play during that time.  Sure they did a remake of Wind Waker after a year on the market, but at the same time they've been pushing out other exclusives for their fanbase to actually have games.

It's completely different when your preferred console has no games though.  During that first year, even though Nintendo had 10+ exclusives on their own, as well as many good multiconsole titles, many of you from the Sony fanbase bashed the Wii U for having no games.  I bashed the Wii U because at the time it still only had three games that interested me.  Now that Sony has no games for the first year and a couple months, you're defending the console for what you were bashing another for.  It's pretty hypocrital.  Everyone but you guys are the ones that see it.  Maybe you didn't bash the reason for having no games, but there are many that did that I'm sure are defending Sony with less games.

You are joking, right? The small team that built the game from ground up even had time to accurately include every glitch of the original?

And updating some graphic effects, textures and meshes aren't the same as a complete remake like Twin Snakes, Resident Evil on GameCube, realMyst, Leisure Suit Larry 1, Quest for Glory 1 - 3 or Prince of Persia Classic... they are ports with some modifications.
