An unpopular opinion, but I voted GC because it's the only Nintendo controller without a meaningful innovation. Pressure sensitive buttons have mostly just confused users and I've always despised the radial layout. On the other hand, wireless in the Wavebird…

Voting N64 is silly, since the analog stick was such a monumental success that even today the industry can hardly imagine making games without one.

Wiimote is almost as silly, since it stood up to the scorn of the entire industry and won.

I suppose this entire poll is further proof that despite gamers always talking about how they want new experiences, they really just want to stay comfortable with old experiences. And the worst business decision is to give consumers exactly what they want...

There wasn't anything good about the N64 controller besides the analog stick if you ask me....

Gampad was by far the worst. Those corners would occasionally dig into your hands...

NES controller. Outside of this particular one, every other Nintendo controller has been comfortable, Wiimote was specially awesome thanks to the pointer in FPS games. N64 one was also great and very comfortable, more than the GC on IMO, if you held it correctly, of course. A lot of my friends when playing on it thought they were using a DualShock and stretched their fingers to reach the analog, playing like that will surely make you hate the controller.

I never understand the "need 3 hands to use N64" comments. Does any game force you to use all 3 prongs? Pokemon Stadium makes you use the D-Pad. So you're using the wide holding form. Every other game makes you use the right side. I never encountered a game that uses the left form. Even though Nintendo show cases it in the manual. The N64 to me is a GC controller, with the middle stretched out. Because of the Z trigger.

it's really close. Both suffer from one huge design flaw that Nintendo felt was "inspired". They both tried to make the controllers focus on just one button. The wii could have been much easier to develop for had its button layout been more like the playstation move. That said I voted for gc because it's when the "one button so everyone can play" concept was introduced. Other than that huge design flaw I loved both controllers.
