I don't understand either. People should actually be happt, because this means that the game is accessible to many more consumers, making for a richer gaming community, which is of great importance to these multiplayer titles.
Also, this means that the game has access to a greater variety of advertising outlets, making it much easier to market the game.

People shouldn't be naive, the reason it's rated T is because Activision lobbied for it, for those reasons above.

Yes, just what we need, a bigger surge of 12 year olds playing an aggressively, violent game.

On topic though, it doesn't matter to me, but I would have perfer rated M. It just feels like bungie would have more freedom in the dialogue and story or visuals, maybe make some sections real dark, gruesome and disturbing so long as it fits the story/area, of course.

I don't like it. I want Boobie monster bosses.

Only a T? What is this? A Barbie game? I am not buying this shit.

"I've Underestimated the Horse Power from Mario Kart 8, I'll Never Doubt the WiiU's Engine Again"

The game will sell more because of it.

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

If the 500 million dollar investment rumor is true, the game would have to sell around 8.5 million copies to break even, making the assumption every dollar from a $60 purchase goes back to Activision and not anyone else. Rough estimates I have read is they need to sell around 20 million copies to break even(obviously not taking into account DLC). We should be happy this game isnt rated E.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

1. Are people really raging? :S
2. How did Bungivision convince the ESRB to give a game where I'm blowing heads off with sniper rifles a T?

Thanks jlmurph!

It's rated T? Cool. About time a game like this actually cuts away at all the unnecessary language and such.

Though I haven't seen much gameplay, I imagine this game probably should still carry a M rating.

Bets:

1. If the Wii U sells closer to 10 million LTD by 1/3/2015 I win. If it sells closer to 9.5 million LTD by 1/3/2015 OfficerRaichu15 wins (winner gets 2 weeks of avatar control)--Lost.

Didn't know that was happening. Haven't seen any of that here.

4 ≈ One

I did see people playing the alpha, and it was quite enjoyable. The PvP was pretty good now that I know it's T rated. No swear words, no excessive violence, no gore, no grittiness... the game actually seems mature in a behavioral context. Let's pray that the media doesn't blow this out of proportions, prompting certain fans to slander, bash and boycott the game.

I'm 26 and I very rarely look at the Rating of a game. I have about 50+ games and I'm sure they are all over the spectrum. Never cared to look.

Also I've not heard a single person mention this until this thread... So I think you have managed to create a topic for people to argue about that if it never came up, no one would have thought twice about it (:
