Why does it matter

That was definitely Shipped + Digital (1.2mil). As for why it matters, Selling Through is much better as those are sold to consumers. Sold is just to retail. So if 2mil is indeed sell through by June 25th, that means the total amount of MK8 nintendo sold should be about 2.2mil-2.4mil (which would be shipped+digital)

From Nintendo's AGM. Someone live-tweeting the event has shared that Mario Kart 8 has allegedly sold 2 million copies in 1 month world wide.

The tweet also mentions a reported upturn in hardware sales for the Wii U.
