Some think the game should end right there. The game is a masterpiece and it doesn't need a sequel. That said, Sony would be foolish to turn away all that free money. I think it would be Ellie centered, perhaps as an adult.

P.S. - Just wanna say that I never liked the rationale at the end. It's like destroying the cure for cancer because you can't sacrifice one person.........that isn't your daughter......which the person volunteered for in the first place. Sorry guess I'm a "greater good" kind of guy. If it was my kid then that's a moral issue but he let his personal demons get in the way of the world getting better............and killed a lot of people with the best of intentions.

While intentions for the greater good are great and all, I don't trust the fire flies. They were a sort of terrorist group (they created some explosives early in the game at the boston QZ) and their numbers were going down fast. They were also in direct conflict with the military, so even if they got the cure, i'm pretty damn sure they were not going to hand it over willy nilly. I think they would use it as a way to gain more power, a power grab I guess. Distribution is also a very difficult problem, it could take years for them to distribute it to EVERYBODY. Also, after 20 years of raping, pillaging and murder, a lot of people (mainly the hunters) simply will not turn around over night. It's all they knew how to do to survive, Joel knew that since he was hunter and he did some horrible things as well.

I think the story is richer and better by showing Joel inability to sacrifice that one person, who isn't even related, but that it gave him a chance of redemption, to try and give her the life that he was not able to give to Sarah. In his mind, the world was not worth saving and there was still hope (Tommy's camp was making it happen with electricity and such)

Your friend thinks Marlene is still alive? You won the debate already, she was already bleeding out and then took a bullet right to the face, there's no way she lives.

Yes, their story will continue. Ellie will eventually find out Joel lied to her about curing the epidemic and get pissed at him yaddy yadda blehbleh and Joel will die in the second game due to some unseen circumstance at either mid game or at the end. That's what I think will happen anyways.

Next LoU game could be a prequel with Joel. Between the death of his daughter and finding Ellie, there are twenty years of untold things.

It would be interesting to see how Joel and his brother got separated.

All of that could be told in flashbacks for the sequel like they did with Uncharted. The sequel can start off exactly where the first left off. Seriously, no one thought it was "left dangling" since they never entered the town. They can easily make it start off there, them get to town and the place taken over by clickers or bandits

I would say that a game featuring Ellie as an adult would be the best option for a new game.

Maybe it will continue, but that definitely not what ND was going for with that ending, if it continues it'll be because of the success

I also thought the ending was pure genius btw 10/10

also how could marlene be alive? she got shot in the face? lol

lol he's a conspiracy theorist, he thinks marlene could survive that or maybe not shot in the brain.

It seemed to me marlene died too easily, I would've liked a bit more of a fight to kill that little ****** ********* **** ****** person

If your mother was the cure for cancer, would you happily allow a surgeon to kill her for the cure, even though your mother was ignorant of the outcome?

Well if you think that they made a strong bond as if adopted daugther or future lover and that she is the only special one to him. Considering he lost all interest in humans in general his choice seems the only normal one. He fought a suicidal mission but weren't warned that the girl would die to save humanity if he got there. Possibility of death is different than giving her to sacrifice.

Well after all the dexterity Joel showed, all the kills he done single handedly what chance would a normal woman have against him?? One that got him to bring the girl since she wasn't capable enough.

I remember watching an interview with Druckmann over the ending. He essentially said that Ellie realized Joel was lying to her. She just accepted it and realized that she can't stay with Joel anymore.

TLOU was great, but seriously, I want ND to create a new IP.

Hey don't click here ! It's creepy !!

I want a PlayStation All-Stars Sequel ! Come on Sony, stop making too many shooters !

I'll make a better signature when I'll have time to do it...
