Forums - Gaming - So who still supports EA games?

I support games, not publishers. Mass Effect for example was a great game, so I bought it and had a ton of fun.

Some people need to get over themselves...

Agree with the concept that you sould support the developers. Problem is EA funds the devs and each year to me gets worst and worst and pushes their devs to cut corners, probably pay them shit too and their games suffer.

Actually I just read an article on IGN (I think) that talked about how it is a norm in the industry for studios to layoff people when a game ships and then rehire them when it is crunch time.  The thing is the source said EA tried harder than most people to give out good severance packages and find them new jobs., and that they payed higher than average.

Now don't get me wrong, I am not some kind of EA fanboy...If that is even a thing.  In fact I suspect BF4's buggy console versions are a result of not being given enough time by EA to polish the game.  But there is no need to hate them for it because sales suffered and EA learned their lesson.

Prediction for console Lifetime sales:

Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million

[Prediction Made 11/5/2009]

3DS: 65m, PSV: 22m, Wii U: 18-22m, PS4: 80-120m, X1: 35-55m

I gauruntee the PS5 comes out after only 5-6 years after the launch of the PS4.

[Prediction Made 6/18/2014]

As for the question in the title, I don't consider myself an EA fan, but neither am I crazy enough to boycott them. Just in the next 2 years they've got Dragon Age Inquisition and Star Wars Battlefront that I'm interested in, no way I'd boycott them and miss those 2 games.

You are the reason why EA will never change anything, because when gamers still buy their shitty developed games they will never see any reason to change anything!!! Unbelevable!!!

Never bought another EA game since the original Crysis in 2007. Couldn't be happier. I do get their free games on Origin, though.

Battlefront will be the next EA game I buy, nothing else really interests me at the moment. BF4 was crap though, so that series is pretty much dead to me unless they decide to someday make Bad Company 3.

Ummmm I'll be buying Dragon Age, Battlefront, and Mass Effect. Maybe even Mirrors Edge. So nope I'll probably never stop supporting them as long as they continue to publish good games.

I don't know why the OP is trying to spin this video as something bad. This game looks fucking amazing!

I support EA for what they do well and I'll continue to play their games in the future.

I too no longer support EA. Unfortunately they still have me with Mass Effect and maybe dragon age.

Left to me they should go the way of crytek.

You  realize that no one forced Bioware to sign with EA right?  EA saw potential, and gave them the best deal.  Like it or not EA publishes countless unforgetable games and without them we would probably be missing a few great ones.

P.S.  I guarantee that some games by EA people are "Boycotting" are just games they weren't gonna buy anyways.  Enjoy the new Dragon Age you aren't boycotting Intrinsic!

You misunderstand me. I am not "boycotting" EA. I simply will not take $60 of my hard earned money and boy a mediocre game. And I feel that as gamers we can bitch and whine on the forums all we want, but the best way to send that message home to these suits that actually make the decisions is through our wallets.

This isn't about bioware or any other number of great games EA published (till date one of my best FPS games ever was medal of honor:frontline), its that EA seems to be having a growing reputation of rehashing titles or releasing extremely buggy games. They seem more intrested in how much money they can make from their customers instead of at least first making a great good game.

My "not supporting EA" basically means that i have zero faith or confidence in EA anymore. It means that even for games like Mass effect 4, I would first wait at least a month and see if its a bug fest before i jump in. It means I would steer clear of all their sport titles as they no long er innovate or push those franchises. EA is fast becoming the publisher that games go to to die.

I bought Titanfall this year on PC and NFS: Most Wanted on Wii U last year. The Titanfall hype wasn't justified, but they're both good games.

I try to support them as little as humanly possible. Only games I bought recently was simcity (huge disapointment). If they were still like they were in the Genesis/SNES days I might though.
