Which looks better

Tech demo 2011 382 29.09%

E3 2014 928 70.68%

Total:1,310

Both are amazing, but I really wanted them to go with the tech demo style, since it looked so nice.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

omg!!!! Yes, cuz if they had different graphics the game would of sold 6mil-8mil instead they have these graphics so it'll sell 2mil-3mil lifetime -_-

So for the people who agree with the OP, are you saying that Majority of all Zelda fans only care about graphics? Good to kno :0

There's actually correlation between artstyle and sales.

Ocarina of Time despite being on a 32m userbase sold more than 7 million copies, while Wind Waker sold like 3 million less (4m ltd iirc).

Twilight Princess being so similar to Ocarina of Time, not only on gameplay but also graphics wise, helped the game to pull more than 7 million copies, meanwhile Skyward Sword has not even reached 4 million ltd.

As much as I love Zelda U, being like the tech demo would have generated a lot more hype throught non Nintendo/Zelda fans, just like Twilight Princes in 2004-2006.

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

to be perfectly frank,.. i like them both.   but if i had to choose i'd pick the new style.  feels more unique than the old style.

Thanks to ilustrate the OP.

I like the new artstyle even when I was whishing for something like the tech demo or Ocarina/Majora's.

I wouldn't mind of the next Zelda after this one looks like the tech demo.

np, it needed it.

what i like about the new style is that detailing that quite apparent in link's tunic for the one pic i didn't delete.  i don't know what the artistic name is for it but that over excentuated blocking of the shadow effects is really cool imo.  i feel like the haters of the new style really just hate the brightness of the new style.  honestly,.. we've only seen "hyrule field" so far so who knows maybe other parts of the game will be much darker.  i wouldn't be surprised if it was.

im srry but that argument is BS. If Wind Waker was the launch title for wii instead of Twilight Princess it would of sold about the same. It rode sales with the HUGE SUCCESS with the Wii. Killzone for PS4 is another example of this, the game sold well but definitely benefited being a launch game. How do you think ZombiU sold 600k? Same reason!

Skyward Sword? It was due to the heavy motion controls but a bigger reason is It was released when wii was practically dead.

I can give an example of what i mean, look at Gran Turismo, the last one dropped in sales compared to the previous one.

Seriously though the artstyle might dissapoint some, but overall i cant stand when people use that excuse.

Practically wat people are saying is if nintendo can go back in time and switch Twilight Princess and Wind Waker, sales will be dramatically different right??? Yeah....... Just No.

But in the end when this game sells 3mil-4mil (or watever) some people will claim if nintendo went with the tech demo graphics, the game would of sold an extra 2-4mil more -_-

The tech demo looked pretty but now that we've seen a trailer for the actual game it looks generic and sort of boring.

E3 2014 version looks waaaaaay better. And not just aesthetically -- it also appears superior graphically, to my untrained eyes.

I like the new style...the old tech demo looked impressive graphical but in the way that tech demo's impress. The new one looks like its an actual game...because it is.

Thanks, kitler. That really helped me remember...and while I like the look of that demo, I'm much more inspired by the world presented in the E32014 teaser. One thing that should be considered when comparing these two styles, however, is that one is an internal shot and the other an external shot. It's really hard to say what either would look like if shot from the other's environment. That could be a project for someone with time/skill. Render the tech demo in the new style and the new style in the vein of the tech demo. Would certainly be interesting.

If they deliver on open world the graphics looks fine and it will be huge.
