Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Why I don't like Nintendo

another butthurt fan over mario kart 8 sales.

Around the Network

All right guys look. I think we have a little bit of a misunderstanding here.

I'm just tired of seeing Mario, Zelda, and Pokemon. I'm getting bored of seeing these type of games over and over because Mario and friends don't appeal to me anymore.

I want Nintendo to take bigger risk. I want them to make new super hit franchises.

Let Mario and friends take a rest all ready.

That is why I think they're mediocre. As in not very good quality.

And how, exactly, are you measuring quality?  I doubt you'll give a sufficient answer anyway.

A list of more Mario, and Pokemon games? No thanks I all ready have one in the OP, and the type of games that I want Nintendo to make more of.

You're clearly quite the ignorant one when you think Nintendo only has Mario and Pokemon.  They have a LOT of other IPs.  Fact is that they don't sell as well.  New IPs do not equal better business.  Nintendo already is quite varied with its game choices, it's not my fault (or Nintendo's fault) that you have no idea what they are.  You clearly criticize Nintendo without actually knowing anything.

You're free to not like my criticism.

It's not a criciticism.  You were flat out wrong.  There was nothing true about what you said, so it can't be a criticism.  Try to tell the truth for once, or type something honest rather than covering your nasty bias as something legitimate.  It's one thing to have an opinion, and another to lie.

The original pokemon is the best in my opinion. NEw mechanics just makes the game more accessible. Doesn't change anything else.

The fact that you think that proves to me that you don't even know what the new mechanics are.  The way the game is played is definitely different between each generation, while keeping the core mechanics in place.  The only thing I can see you making a legitimate complaint about is the fact that the formula for the story never changes.

Heh? I'm saying they should make new fresh things like X, and let Mario and friends retire peacefully. To much of the same is boring.

You could just not play them.   A lot of OTHER people want those games, proven by the sales.  Nintendo DOES make new things.  As I have said numerous times before, you really know nothing about Nintendo yet you criticize them for not doing something they already are doing, or suggest something completely idiotic.

Those Mario franchises believe it or not, is selling less. Big numbers yes, but its dropping. Nintendo is to afraid to take risk which is probably one of the reasons why other publishers don't put their games on their system.

15 Mario Kart 7 3DS 2011 Racing Nintendo 3.71 2.85 2.34 0.68 9.57

Quite a few of the new Mario titles are up in the top 15.  So your comment is just wrong, and ill informed.  Also, what Nintendo does with its own IPs has NOTHING to do with what OTHER publishers do.  Your comment is so ignorant that it doesn't make sense.

You cannot tell me what to like, and not like. Its fine if you think my taste in games is bad, but I also think yours is bad.

I'm not telling you what to like or that your taste in games are bad.  I'm simply saying that you know nothing about the topic you are writing about.  It's clear in how much delusion you write with.  Seriously, almost nothing you've said has any substance to it and I've proven you wrong more than once already.

For you the game is good. Not for me. I've had enough of Mario and friends. Just like how I've had enough of CoD, and EA sport games.

Which is why you just don't play them.  Nintendo has MORE than Mario, Zelda, and Pokemon.  I've already told you that many times before.  You didn't want to admit that Nintendo has more than that, though.  Which is why no one should listen to you, and you making this thread was a complete waste of your own time.

My comment is actually correct. Big sales yes, but their numbers is getting smaller.

What do you find mediocre about them ?

I mean there's basically everyone against you (critical acclaim by both users and reviewers), so you need to explain your point of view, otherwise repeating "their games are mediocre" over and over is nothing more than trolling.

I made my criticism 100% clear in the OP about why. I wont change my wording If they keep asking.

To many of the samething gets boring. Again this is what I think.

Does this answer your question?

Then your wording is wrong.

You said in the OP, they "keep making" mediocre games. That means you think their games were already mediocre before.

Now you're saying that they're only mediocre, because they reuse their ideas. Which basically means that if you never heard about the newest iteration of the franchises in question, you wouldn't find them mediocre.

even though i don't enjoy most of Nintendo games (actually only W101, Xenoblade and the new Zelda are the ones that interest me), i think this is going way too far...

No, it isn't.  You said it's getting smaller.  My point is that it's varied.  You see newer Mario titles sell more than older titles sometimes.  I'll refine the list so you can see it.

1 Mario Kart Wii Wii 2008 Racing Nintendo 15.15 12.42 3.73 3.21 34.52
2 Mario Kart DS DS 2005 Racing Nintendo 9.58 7.31 4.12 1.88 22.89
3 Mario Kart 64 N64 1996 Racing Nintendo 5.55 1.94 2.23 0.15 9.87
4 Mario Kart 7 3DS 2011 Racing Nintendo 3.71 2.85 2.34 0.68 9.57
5 Super Mario Kart SNES 1992 Racing Nintendo 3.54 1.24 3.81 0.18 8.76
6 Mario Kart: Double Dash!! GC 2003 Racing Nintendo 4.12 1.77 0.87 0.19 6.95
7 Mario Kart: Super Circuit GBA 2001 Racing Nintendo 2.62 1.64 0.99 0.23 5.47

2011 Mario Kart is above 2001, 2003, and 1992.  That's an increase.  2005 is at #2, and 2008 is at #1.  Now let's move on to another Mario game.

I bolded all of the 2D Mario platformers and left all the 3D Mario platformers the same.  (I didn't supply the full list).  You can see that New Super Mario Bros 2 sold more than Super Mario Bros 2 here (and will continue to sell more).  The original New Super Mario Bros and New Super Mario Bros Wii both sold better than all of the other Mario games besides the original.  Super Mario World also sold better than some of the older titles.  As you can see, there isn't any form of consistent decrease in sales for 2D Mario Platformers.
Look at 3D Mario Platformers, and you see it still holds true.

So no, you're wrong.

The Mario games like on N64, and before it is really good. But not now for me, and there is a lot of them now which I think drops its quality as time goes on. Just seeing them being reused in the sametype of platform and plot is unappealing.

I was hoping people would understand my wording. Thanks for catching it.

i think out of all of the things you said, i agree 10000% in the fact that they SHOULD focus more on new IPS instead of pouring sequels of the same games generation after generation, i understand that people like those games but your not gonna grab people like me into the console by doing mostly the same thing every gen.

i know they are good games but they just don't appeal to me, that's why i wish they made more new stuff because then maybe some of those new games (hopefully all of them), would appeal to me.
