Can you be more specific about the combat? Is it the enemy design or the motion controls (Or both) you didn't like?

Skyward Sword. Hand holding, crappy bosses, motion controls, mainly on the bug weapon sucked. Fii has useless info. We fought the ballon toed monster 3 times. Got lame after the first time. They always seem to use the WORSE enemies to fight 3 times. That toe monster just pissed me off because I just fell off due to the poor lock on and motion sword controls.
SS is the worst.
the others are amazing.
SS is horrible as a zelda game
and mediocre as a game in general.
Twilight Princess was the BEST!
Skyward Sword is the WORST Zelda I've ever played and one of the worst gameplays I've ever experienced! Motion Controls would NEVER work for me!
The Bitch is back! And better then ever! #BritneyReturns

SONY Bring them BACK for PS4 and VITA!

I know im not apart of this bebate but i agree with the repetivitve combat. IMO Zelda games in general dont really have the most in-depth combat mechanics, but SS motion controls really bothered me on top of shallow enemies with dumb AI. No Action game i've played so far has indepth combat if motion controls is its main mechanic. The game was so easy you can just swing randomly at low lvl enimes. Ontop of that, the battles with Ghirahim when you are forced to slash in certain directions weren't challenging just annoyingly frustrating.

Mostly the enemy design. Their defensive posture (those that have them) is little more than a prompt for a directional attack. It's one step above flashing arrows on the screen.
I believe in honesty, civility, generosity, practicality, and impartiality.

Zelda 2 is not a 3D game. OoT has a primitive camera that isn't controlable. It's combat is more stiff and less satisfying than all the others except Majora's Mask. The text is slow. The Water Temple exists. The menu system is an unstreamlined mess. The level design of places like the Gerudo Hideout is poor. This wasn't as much of an issue when OoT was the first of it's kind. Now it is. Even with the 3DS remake, there are things they couldn't fix. |
At least you replied to somebody:P I never thought about the camera so i would honestly have to go back to figure out what you mean, I remember being able to control it, but that was 10 years ago:P The text being slow is minor, the only issue with the water temple is that they didn't allow you to attach the metal boots to one of the c-buttons, they fixed this in the 3ds release and the water temple is a pretty fantastic temple with that small change. Gerudo hideout is definitely one of the issues, and this was improved upon in majaras mask. Either way, all of that combined is very minor. Nothing like TP or SS where you have giant open worlds with nothing to do. Or you have combat like TP where you have tons of different combos, none of which are useful. Or SS where at best it works 90% of the time...seriously...if you think blue shells in mario kart are annoying, you haven't tried to defeat the 3rd boss in SS. Which by the way, the bosses in SS are atrocious, and they make you repeat the worst ones 3 times.....At least the bosses in TP are decent. OH, and they managed to make a side character MORE annoying than navi....at least ocarina had a good story with a satisfying ending where you actually developed a connection with almost every character you met. In TP, every character was lifeless, in SS you had a decent connection with Zelda but that was it.

Slow text isn't a minor issue to me. It halts the pacing of the game every time you talk to someone. They definitely fixed the water temple in OoT3D, but I didn't count the remake as it isn't a fair comparison, even it it still comes out one the bottom. I could just say that all of TP's flaw will be fixed in a remake. OoT's open world was still big with nothing to do, but there was absolutely more to do in TPs open world, even though there was more of it. There was a ton to do in Skyward Sword, unless you're talking about the sky, which I agree, but I was talking about the floor areas. TPs combat, even without the combos, is infinitely better than anything in OoT. OoT's combat, even in the 3DS version, is the worst in the series. SS definitely had some bad bosses, but it also had Koloctos, the best boss in the franchise by a land slide. I never had a problem with Navi or Fi, since I never responded to them unless I was forced. I actually like Fi better than Navi, as Navi wasn't really much of a character. At least Fi had a gimmick. OoT's story is Mario simple. It's not bad, but it definitely isn't impressive. And it has a lot of time related inconsistancies that really don't matter and I won't get into. Only Ganondorf, Link, and Zelda were lifeless in TP, not that I'm glossing over that. Midna was awesome, and Zant was really good until they ruined his character at the end. SS had the best characters since Wind Waker. I mean Link and Demise where shit, and Fi was kind of boring, but everyone else was interesting.
The worst for me is Majora's mask. The stupid 3 day gimmick turned me off and that the game bored me as I only was able to get to the 2nd dungeon before quitting. However I have not played it in a long time so I might be too mean. So I choose skyward sword. Followed by wind waker then Ocarina of time and finally Twilight Princess

Skyward Sword. I would have said Wind Waker, but the HD version made so many improvements and I enjoyed it much more.
