Yes you read that right, I think MK8 sold so well because Wii U owners haven't got a game since February. Meanwhile PS4 and X1 have had tons of games each in the meantime.

Lets count games each platform recieved between March and May

PS4: - MGS V: GZ

- Infamous: Second Son

- FF XIV: ARR

- LEGO Hobbit

- The Amazing Spiderman 2

- MLB 14: The Show

- Wolfenstein: The New Order

- Watch Dogs

 

X1: - MGS V: GZ

- Titanfall

- The Amazing Spiderman 2

- LEGO Hobbit

-Wolfenstein: The New Order

- Watch Dogs

 

Wii U: - The Amazing Spiderman 2

- LEGO Hobbit

-MK8

 

Thus this list proves my notion whether or not Nintendo fans agree with me, which they won't.

The answer is no. It would of sold just about the same if they're were any other game(s) in between DK+MK8 release.

Edit: Actually depending on what game(s) came out during March-May, MK8 could of sold even more! Ex:If  SSB released, the install base would of been much bigger by the release of MK8

I think lifetime would've been the same, but it did cause an inflation of the first couple weeks sales.

Why such downplaying of a game on a console that is no threat? I don't get it, like all the vehement arguments for why MK8's graphics actually suck?

No, beacuse if WiiU owners weren't really interested in Mario Kart 8 and were starved for games they would have just sold their console to buy the Ps4 already.

Your Nintendo list is incomplete. There were third party games available like Spiderman 2, though that game sucks. So far I don't like it much. Lego Hobbit was an awesome game.

And there have been lots of indies too like Scram Kitty, Ittle Dew, Child of Light, Stick It To The Man and a few others.

Why would anyone agree with that list if they know there were more than that?
