Now might be a good time to mention that I never played Pokémon but the idea of a console game, based on what I know of the series has intrigued me since the late 90's.

Would you be more intrigued by the visuals in the picture in the OP, or a more anime like, kind of cartoon-ish approach?

I used to watch the cartoon and it would be kinda jarring to see realistic versions of the characters--some of the Pokémon themselves would translate well.  I think a Zelda Wii U art style would please every and give it some kind of stylized look.  Plus sone Pokémon would look pretty out-of-place in a realistic style, imo.

The execs at gamefreak are so terrified of taking risk for fear of losing money that the mainline games have deviated slower from the formula then continental drift, the home consoles games are the only time we might get a real exploration, hopefully game freak will finally decide to make one of these spinoffs into an actual game rather than a glorified toy advertisement (Rumble U)

Seriously, Gameplay should be the most important graphics be damned, it should target 80fps, Open world, with good artstyle, and abs, with a story like that of Pokemon Adventures.

Hell, let us make our own characters and play against the heroes like Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, etc.

Call it Pokemon Heroes, sell an anime with it, Done, Billions sold.

Honestly, I don't even want Gamefreak doing it. They are far from what they used to be. Get someone else to do it. Give it a big budget. Sell a TV show with it. Done. Billions sold.

Control your trainer with the control stick, choose the Pokemon and issue commands via the touch-screen in real-time. Sort have it like Dragon-Age: Origins, but have it so that when they evolve they unlock new schools of moves to learn but lose old ones.

Considering what they've done with Pokemon on 3DS, I agree that we cannot trust Gamefreak on delivering a good console-quality RPG at all. If they can't keep a stable framerate on such a simple-looking game on 3DS (which looks just terribly optimized), then their console game will probably end up performing just as bad and I honestly wouldn't even want a game like that. They need to get someone like Monolith Soft to do it since these guys have experience with making large open-world games at respectable quality. They could start right after Xenoblade X is complete, and the development of this Pokemon game probably won't take as long to make as Xenoblade X since it will have simpler designs.

Now, will their first game be a full open-world remake of older Pokemon games, or something brand new and different?

I would love for Monolith to make a Pokemon game as long as it wasn't a Xenoblade clone. It would look simpler, but the world would probably be bigger. I'd hope it was a new game and not a remake.

Just like the Gameboy games, but with WiiU like graphics, like Xenosomething

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

Awesome idea, I have a similar one -- let's "make" a Bravely Default game for home consoles.

First we have to completely redo the graphics. Instead of topdown, we'll make it fully 3D from behind the player. Change the style from old-fashioned JRPG to something more like The Witcher. The characters should be mo-capped.

Now the gameplay. Turn-based battles are old hat. How about if it plays more like Mass Effect? That would be cool.

Now for the story. Flying around the world in a airship looking for crystals has been done to death and it needs to be changed for the sake of change. So instead of that we'll make the main mode of transportation military helicopters and instead of crystals the characters will be children trying to find their vacationing parents with whom they lost contact upon the outset of the zombie apocalypse.

Square Enix is stupid for playing it safe and not giving us the Bravely Default game everyone wants.

battle system should be like tekken.

Pardon me but I doubt you are being Sincere. This is not a laughing matter. The pokemon series is good, great even, but this franchise has have very little innovation out of the first coming games.

The mainline pokemon series is the least innovative series on the planet. Not to mention the turnbased battle system of the mainline pokemon is elementary and isn't representative of the Manga or Anime.

Why does it need to innovate? Every generation we get an entirely new region, new Pokemon, new moves and abilities, new mechanics, and more. Tons of new content. What's more, Pokemon is the only RPG series that comes to mind with a competitive scene that rivals the sort you see with fighting games, and each generation dramatically shakes up the metagame. I never see people saying Street Fighter doesn't innovate enough?

Also the anime sucks. It has always sucked. If there's a problem it's that the anime isn't representative of the games, not the other way around.
