Wow ok. So you obviously only see the first week as way to make money. But if Marip ends up selling more overall in 3 month span who ends up maing more profits. You seem to forget Watch Dogs on PS4 has 2 million so it should outsell Mario Kart in the first week. Already said it would its common sense.

It's not how I see it, it's how the industry sees it. It's generally true as well.

drop it to 199 bucks, best price cut ever!

...Let the Sony Domination continue with the PS4...

Sorry guys isn't the X1 performing worst than WiiU?
i mean isn't the market performing very badly overall?

Even though there are less Xbox One consoles on the market compared to Wii U consoles, Ubisoft's games still sell much better on Xbox One. For example, AC4 sold 0.79M on XOne versus 0.18 on WiiU.

I agree with your graph ..but put a graph of child of light, raymans legend and just dance 2014 and it will tell a different story than this graph as with the right type of games and right marketing wii u can sell on third parties ...just saying

You're right. There are certain 3rd party games that have sales that are closer to other consoles, like Just Dance and Rayman Legends. What does that tell us though? Wii U owners are less interested in games like Assassin's Creed and Call of Duty, and more interested in games like Rayman Legends and Just Dance. Ubisoft will probably continue releasing games like Just Dance on the Wii U, but they will probably pass on creating the next Assassin's Creed for Wii U.

I don't think people are less interested in Ubisoft 3rd party ..I just think they don't advertise or put much emphasis in the wii u version just look at assasins creed or call of duty ..they have you in a mystery until the last month if it's even coming to the wii u or in commercials they would show every version box art except the wii u and it's being released on the wii u ...if they show more emphasis in the wii u maybe people will buy it more ...like show what it could do with the second screen etc

I don't think more Wii U's is necessarily the answer. Wii had a crapton of sales but didn't sell most 3rd party games regardless. Nintendo fans just don't want any 3rd party game besides the dancing one. It seems like most of these folks will only buy a game with "nintendo's seal of quality" xD.

Some will say it's because they don't like "dudebro" games but even a Japanocentric title like Tales of Graces did much better on PS3 than Wii despite the PS3 version coming much later and having a much smaller base to sell to at the time.

Conclusion: Nintendo fans don't want 3rd party games so why bother. They complain of them being nonexistent but won't buy them if they did exist. That what it seems like anyway.

Nintendo fans want 3rd party, completely wrong assumption. They just want them not to be half-ass versions of lesser console versions.

EXACTLY!

Well Im glad Nintendo doesnt see it that way. See for the most part they are a profitable company and can afford down years like last year. Meanwhile other companies can barely stay afloat.

Its good that Nintendo has the ear of a company like Ubisoft instead of that of the fans that tend to roam the forums. The gist I'm getting from Yves is that its not Ubisoft job to sell the Wii U on the merits of its biggest selling feature, and that is making games that utilize the gamepad well. ZombiU, Rayman, the upcoming Watch_dogs, Splinter Cell Blacklist, games from EA like Need for Speed , Warner Brothers in Batman have used the pad better than any Nintendo game for the system.

Ubisoft is no fly by night company, especially when it comes to creating successful games on the Nintendo platform. From Prince of Persia in the GC era, to Just Dance and Rabbids on the Wii, they tend to follow the same philosophy (for a segment of their games) when it comes to creating games as that of Nintendo, accessible to everyone, pick up and play. Ubisoft tends to have awesome ideas for games and as a Wii U owner I would want that trend to continue, but Nintendo needs to start picking up the slack on the sales side to make the Wii U desirable to the mass public, not just a machine for Nintendo elite.

There is no need to bring the Xbox one into this discussion as the time on the market for it is just a blip for them and in that time, Microsoft has drastically changed the system to make it more approachable to developers and consumers alike.

Very well said - anyone who owns a Wii u ( I do and only a Wii u re home console) should be greatful for Ubisoft -

You're not understanding. I'm talking about the reality of retail. It's generally, as in most of the time but not necessarily always, that games will sell more in their first week than the rest of their time on the market. It's where the idea of "long legs" comes from. Most games don't have long legs, some do. It could be that mario kart 8 has longer legs than watch dogs. I'm not sure if I see that happening. I  don't think either will.

Seems like a pretty standard attempt by a third party to push a console they think isn't selling well enough to have a pricecut. I think I recall this happening every now and then for the PS3 in the last generation as well.

Like I said earlier in a post I posted, this guy is a fucking liar plain and simple. Ubisoft once Mario Kart starts leading Watch Dogs consistently each week and pulls ahead of it for good you will see Unisoft throw a kiddie tantrum and pull support completely. One there is no game completed for the Wii U and if they do release a game I'm a 1000 percent certain its a Rabbids HD remake that gets released.Hey Ubisoft see that rock right there go crawl back under it.

Games tend to sell the most in their first week or two I think it is. Do you really think Mario Kart or watch dogs will continue to sell in the numbers they sold when they first released? The point is, the first couple of weeks, even the first week are the most important time in terms of sales for game releases and Watch Dogs blew mario kart out of the water.

No your wrong ....because in the long run ...mario kart 8 will still be selling years from now and watch dogs will not just look at the charts right now mario kart8 has the most sales this week worldwide of any game .......first week sales does not indicate how well a game is gonna sell
