Probably a bigger reason is it was there best new IP. Unless you count that Toad game as a new IP. The Robot and Guardian game underwhelmed most.

I count Toad as a new IP, but I don't know which I'm more excited for, and I BEGGED for Toad.

Then again while the robot game looked really rubbish to me, I'm a few generous previews away from wanting Project Guard on eShop.

I would like it bundled with the robot game and something else.

Honestly unless it was a Nintendoland style package the robot game would probably put me off of Project Gaurd... that is probably very vain of me though.

crossed off a few that i just can't imagine anyone here is actually hyped for.  bolded a few that i indeed missed.

Sure, keep moving that goal post. Glad to see that nothing has changed while I was gone.

Who cares how many he crossed off.  His initial list was already like 8 games, which is more than he can count on one hand.  He proved his statement wrong before you guys came in and posted 20 mores games, regardless of quality.

while splatoon does look good, it doesnt look that good to be receiving all the praise and attention its been getting. Splatoon is no where near games like The Division in scale, depth or ambition, yet the amount of excitment (mostly on this forum) is surprising for a game like Spatloon. is it just because its a TPS from nintnedo? honestly it doesnt seem like all that, it seems more of a PSN/Eshop/XBL type of game, not that there is anything wrong with that.

if this game was an XB1 or PS4 game it would have been vastly overshowded by other bigger and more interesting games. at least thats my opinion.

It looks like a ton of fun, possibly the first game that actually makes me interested in getting a Wii U

Assuming it would actually be released on XB1 or PS4, it lacks story and cutscenes and all the other "mature" content required for those system's games

Every game receives more attention when it becomes an exclusive.

That didn't seem to help Puppeteer.

Did the game sell poorly? But it wasn't very good anyways, felt like a game that favored style over substance.

Yet there are some big multiplat franchises that receive a lot more attention for the simple fact that they are on multiple platforms. Assassins Creed, CoD, BF, FIFA, etc

I believe Metroid games would sell better if they were multiplats and receive more attention because of a bigger fanbase.

So, GTA and CoD should became exclusives as well!

Last year, Titanfall won half the Game of the Show awards from E3 because of its mobility options -- innovative new ideas like pressing the jump button to climb on top of objects, and giving the player characters jet packs in a sci-fi shooter.

This year, Nintendo reveals a shooter that's all about mobility: you can leap directly into the action as soon as you spawn, raining inky death from above as you fall. You can fly across gaps, slide up walls and beneath gates. And it isn't so simple as pressing a button: you can only perform these feats on paths you've made for yourself with your gun. This requires actual foresight and strategy. Swimming through ink also replenishes your ammunition, and you can use the ink for stealth. The game's core mechanics are inseparably bound together: you can't move if you don't shoot, and you can't shoot if you don't move. These mechanics enforce planning ahead and being fully aware of your surroundings at all times.

I can't believe I have to explain this. Not only does this game have excellent design (yes, we can determine this from what we know right now!), it is completely unique and doesn't play 95% identically to the modern "standard" like almost every other shooter shown in the past several years. That's why people are talking about it! Not because it's made by Nintendo or because it's part of a dry release schedule. I'd go so far as to say that if this game looked shittier visually and was a bit more boring to play and was third-party, everyone would be inking themselves over it.

Oh yeah, I should mention that single player and multiple game modes are already confirmed, so it's easy to conclude that Splatoon will be meatier on content than Titanfall was.

But OP thinks The Division looks good so I'm probably wasting my time in this thread.

Post of the thread right here.
