Rock Pikmin won't help you when its  cubes use water/fire/electric shields.

you have to destroy its parts when it assumes fire, eletric and cube forms if you don't do that it will regenerate

He's a combination of all Pikmin, which is pretty cool. Of course, Rock Pikmin destroy him, but try doing the battle with all Pikmin types

That down there is spoilers for all 3 games, so don't read it unless you know how the Pikmin lore goes.

And if you knew the Umibozu story, you'd see how epic this battle is, and it'd also give some "this all makes sense now!" moments.

Why do you need help against stationary traps? Just ignore them and go after the main body!

Destroying the cubes is how you kill it quickly and efficiently. Attacking the main body only takes forever.

What do you mean regenerate? It takes some of it's life to make those things in the first place! Also Rock Pikmin can destroy the glass cube, which is the only real threatening trap since it moves and insta kills.

Well yeah, any enemy can be made difficult when you go at them with a bad strategy such as that! And I have heard of the Umiboza thing, before I made this thread!
