I am still calling that this game will get delayed to Feb/March 2015.
It's a new IP being pushed into the slaughterhouse of October/November behemoths like Battlefield, AssCreed, CoD, GTA...
The delay will kill two birds with one stone - give the game a chance to sell much more, and give devs time to tinker with the graphics a bit longer.

no way. first all the game looks like its close to being complete. we didnt see any frame rate drops or screen tearing in the gameplay, everything is smooth and played very well. and second of all Microsoft needs everything it can to help sell the XB1 this holiday, and while i dont see this ever being as big as gears or uncharted for example, it can still move a good number of consoles.

Well, who really cares anyway? The game looks awesome and it seems to be a blast to play. I'd rather play a fun game with great gameplay in 900p than a dull one with mediocre gameplay at 1080p.

Still I thought that SO could do 1080p. A little concerning, but nothing to cry about or argue over IMO.

I guess people who are still claiming that the gap is closing care.

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=184598

I guess that only leaves the cloud as an option for parity.

Hmm fair enough. Must have missed that thread.

It doesn't really matter because 10% is not enough to bring it to PS4 levels to start with, the game looks fun to play which is more important than anything else.

Of course not the gap is at the hardware level, the 10% is just 10% of what the X1 resources had, doesn;t give it 10% compared to the x1 lol.,

Somewhat disappointing, but hey ho. I'm perfectly happy with 900p as long as they go with a good AA solution. (900/Good AA > 1080p/Crappy AA).

I never said it will get moved because of the technical issues. Only because of financial ones. A new IP, with a good internet forum buzz, but questionable target market among general audience is looking at tough road when pitted against those other games. MS can sell more consoles by utilizing AssCreed and CoD bundles.

The only way this game can move consoles in that crowded month is to be given away for free. It will most certainly do much more business on both SW and HW level in the early 2015 timeframe.

No one says that the game is bad.

Topics like these are just really really funny for people who had to suffer through all the "parity" threads. Since the announcement of the X1 we had a CPU boost, better SDK and even 10% GPU reserve increase yet there are still inferior graphics. If Crackdown(which supposedly is using the power of the cloud) is not 1080p I will probably die laughing.

TBH I'd rather they go 720p if they can make it 60 FPS or at least 45+, 30 is a little meh.

45 fps is worse than 30 on a static 60Hz screen though, because it always alternates between displaying 1 frame twice and 2 new frames in a row

that leads to a lot of stuttering, especially in slow panning shots, and input speed inconsistency

at ~55 (maybe a bit less) it starts to effectively get much better than 30fps imo

That's kinda true I guess, they'd have to do triple buffering and then the input latency might be worse in the end even if it looks smoother, sigh, resolution isn't as a big deal IMO but that FPS is kinda shitty.

This game is going to be amazing.

Preorder cancelled!!! Come on Insomniac! Your game was looking so damn good until I heard this information.

But no seriously after Dead Rising 3 and then Watch Dogs' res and fps, SO shows its becoming easier to optimize for Xbox One in open world games.

No one said the game is bad, but everytime now 1 game runs at 1080p you have people creating threads like "The gap is closing or will be closed", which is lunacy, so you have to suffer through these threads. Hardware gap always remains.

PS3 gamers had to deal with this for years,

Will edit later.

Insomniac need to return to 60fps. Just in general. I miss when they always targeted that in games.

I'd imagine Ratchet Redux is going to be 30fps too, sadly. Into the Nexus wasn't unplayable or anything, but definitely suffered from it (especially since they couldn't lock 30fps at all)
