Forums - Sony - Bloodborne is a system seller. Here is why.

Bloodborne will have a massive impact on both hardware and software sales, and it has sparked high expectations everywhere even on the PC front, and stealing the spotlight from The Order 1886. A lot of people are saying in countless other threads that this game is the reason they JUST bought a PS4, and others hating on the game because its not on their platform of choice, or some other nonsense about frames rates. Yes, it has even sparked console wars.

Look, what I really want to say is that with all this fighting going back and forth with these free advertisment on the internet, it just guarantees great success and massive sales. That is all.

I predict over 500k 1,200,000 on software sales (edit) Launch week.

Souls games definitely have a hardcore rabid fanbase. And to them, it will deffo move consoles.

How many? IDK. 500k sounds reasonable, but is that really all that big in the larger situation? The gap in the US is already knocking on 1M, and will probably be a lot larger by early 2015.

Of course, this could surprise us and pull in a larger fanbase this time, as the graphics look like they will be a HUGE step up from the past games in the series.

Great games though they may be, the Souls series has always looked basically like they were sloppily ported off of a PS2. Even on PC they look like total garbage. They are probably the best argument for gameplay >>> graphics of all time. And now we will have gameplay ++++++++++++ graphics :D (for those that like it).

Massive impact on software sales... But only 500k sold? I dont know if I would call that massive...

I certainly have no interest in the game, but if people are excited about it, more power to them!

The game will move PS4's, but not to an enormous degree. It will provide a pretty big boost for a few weeks, and eventually, it will level off.

It most definitely will move consoles, but I expect it to be that kind of system seller that has a niche but devoted following.
Software wise it won't pull huge numbers, but will have exponentially big effect on hardware numbers, so reverse-Titanfall effect.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

I'm a huge believer in PS4 kicking butt, and also a believer in Bloodborne being a popular title, but I don't think it will be a multi-week big boost. The fanbase is VERY rabid. I'd bet on them all loading up on it first day. Those are day zero kinds of folks.

The kind of people who like the souls games are the kind who will either buy the console when this comes out or more than likely already have the console. Dont see it doing much more than a minor spike to be honest. Wont stop me enjoying it though.

So another Titanfall effect.

LOL!

Though at least in this case it won't be on PC, so there's a chance it will have a somewhat better effect on PS4 than TF had on Xb one.

I'll be purchasing a PS4 for Bloodborne so I agree with this!

It should help Japan out a little. This and Deep Down, should move 300 - 500K titles each in Japan alone. May see PS4 hit 50k or so during the realease of each.
