2 good games? When you are desperate, hyperbole becomes a scape goat

With all due respect: do you expect Mario Part 8, Yoshi, Splatoon and Captain Toad to set the forums or the sales charts on fire? Would you spent £40 ($67) on them at retail? If you allowed Big Brain and I to list all the games we would purchase based off E3 the list would probably eclipse Nintendos showings by at least a factor of 2.

Multiplats dont have the same presteige as exclusives no doubt but they represent an equal amount of value. If Tomb Raider was XBox exclusive, it would be a huge freaking deal. If the Witcher 3 was exclusive to XBox it would be a huge freaking deal. If Call of Duty was exclusive to XBox, the internet would explode. Mortal Kombat X and Batman being exclusive to PlayStation would lead to epic meltdowns. These games are all HUGE in their own right, 3rd party status just blinds most people to this fact. Yes Nitendo showed the most exclusives but that wont sway most gamers to them any time soon because of the sheer amount of 3rd party games not present on their platform.

The whole point, by saying nintendo showed only 2 game was a gross understatement, and shows the poor foundation of big brains argument from the begining. The amount of spin and terrible rhetoric is getting exposed at this moment. And it's entertaining to me to play around with him

Plus the entertainment value of the direct and thorough coverage of the games shown. I find it particularly funny people would get immediately upset with "so basically nintendo won"

No ones upset, but nintendo never won, showing 2 good games, zero indie or third party support is not winning. They only won for die hard nintendo fans who cannot see past there nintendo bubble. The industry is passign nintendo by.

Says the guy who said the entire community and Media said nintendo won, I guess if you mean less then 19% of ign viewers is all. Other then zelda, smash what big game does nontende have? Seriously the rest are niche for the small nintendo fanbase, devils third looks horrid, toad platformer? lol, moreplatforming.

50% of the PS4 games announced were FPS buddy. ;)

Nintendo has the following genres covered this E3:

Captain Toad Tracker: puzzle/platforming

Xenoblade Chronicles X: real time RPG

Splatoon: third person shooter

Bayonetta 2: Hack & Slash

Super Smash Bros. 4: fighter

Zelda U: adventure game

Pokémon Omega Ruby/Alpha Saphire: turn based rpg

STEAM: turn based strategy

Yoshi's Woolly World: 2D platformer

Kirby's Rainbow Curse: 2D platformer

Star Fox U: on-rails space shooter

Mario Party 10: party game

Yeah they only have 2 decent games and platformers here. /sarcasm

50%?? LOL what school of math did you go to? Destiny and Battlfield = 50%? Little big planet, Drive club, Uncharted, Bloodborne are fps now? The order is not fps either, neither is No mans sky, The witcher,  Magicka 2, MGS 5, Batman, Dragon Age, Lords of the fallen,  Deep down Let it die....Where did you go to school.

I agree only with the number 1

I meant 50% shooters, not first person shooters, my bad. It's in a thread here somewhere which breaks down the 3 conferences into percentages.

And honestly, since when did people give a shit about cheap indy games? They shouldn't even be part of a console maker's conference. Show them off later like Ninty did. DLC doesn't exactly count as a new game either.

Indeed, shooters are to PlayStation what platromers are to Nintendo, the majority but not the only things on offer. PlayStation also had a lot more games on the showfloor than during the presentation. Im personally interested in the following:

Multiplats 16 games

  • Destiny [Console exclusive fps. FPS 2014]
  • Metal Gear Solid V [Console exclusive stealth action. prob 2015]
  • The Witcher 3 [RPG 2015]
  • Batman: Arkham Knight [Action 2015]
  • Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare [FPS 2014]
  • Mirrors Edge 2 [Action prob 2015]
  • Mass Effect 4 [RPG prob 2015]
  • Mortal Kombat X [Fighter 2014]
  • Tomb Raider [Action Adventure 2014]
  • Dragon Age: Inquisition [RPG 2014]
  • Project CARS [Racer 2014]
  • Far Cry 4 [FPS 2014]
  • Assassins Creed Unity [Action 2014]
  • Evolve [FPS 2014]
  • No Mans Sky [Adventure 2014]
  • The Crew [Racer 2014]

PS4 - 5 exlusive games. 21 games including multiplats

  • Uncharted 4 [3rd person action 2015]
  • Guilty Gear Xrd [Fighter 2014]
  • The Last of Us [3rd Person Action, 2014]
  • The Order [3rd Person Action, 2015]
  • Project Beast [ARPG 2015]
XBox One - 7 exclusive games. 23 including multiplats
  • Same as above minus Sony exclusives including
  • Halo 1,2,3,4 MC Collection [fps 2014]
  • Halo 5 [fps 2015]
  • Sunset Overdrive [3rd person shooter 2014]
  • Forza Horizon 2 [racer 2014]

PC - 4 exclusive games. 20 games including multiplats

  • Same as above minus console exclusives including
  • Borderlands The Pre-Sequel [FPS 2014]
  • Grid Autosport [Racer 2014]
  • Star Citizen [Space Sim]
  • Distance [Racer]

Wii U - 6 exclusive games. 8 (project CARS + CoD) including multiplats

  • Smash Bros for Wii U [fighter 2015]
  • Zelda [RPG 2015]
  • Xenoblade Chronicles X [RPG 2015]
  • Hyrule Warriors [Hack n Slash 2014]
  • Bayonetta 1 + 2 [Hack n Slash 2014]
If you soley own a PC, PS4 or XBox you really are spoilt for choice. If you soley own a WiiU you must really like Nintendo games. If you own a PC and a Wii U then things are also fine, difference being the PS4 and X1 can hold their own without spending extra for a PC.
I'll say it again Nintendo definately won the presentation and nailed its execution but the numerous 3rd party games on other systems will still steal most gamers time and money.

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

It's not 50% shooters either.... Nintendo has even less variety, how manmy shooter, rpg's Sports games are on wii-u? Platformers, platformer, platformer...seriously, with indies, Multiplats and sony's first party even genre is covered and then some.

You do realize that the only decent exclusive game you'll be playing on PS4 this year is a 2D platformer right?

Wii U on the other hand has Bayonetta 2, Hyrule Warriors, Captain Toad Treasure Tracker and Super Smash Bros. 4.

I can play any multiplat I want on my pc.
