Other M's awful story was all Sakamoto from what I've heard. Playing the game exclusively with the Wiimote was another one of Sakamoto's genius ideas!

They did say they would reveal more in the 'near' future. Sounds to me like someone, somewhere is in early stages of production with something Metroid related that just isn't ready enough to share.

I'd probably say that this points to Retro being in pre-planning/prototyping for Prime 4.

I've been craving a new 2D metroid for almost a decade now, and a new FPA Metroid since the release of the Wii U. It's tough, but I think I'd rather want an FPA Metroid for now. Hopefully we get both!! Oh and hopefully the FPA Metroid has Wiimote + Nunchuck support. I can't go back to gamecube controls.
