Hopefully they tighten up the controls. There's nothing more important than a very precise and accurate control scheme in shooters. Gyro is a nice option but from what I've read so far on the game, it probably isn't the best choice.

Having a mix of both can work out. Much like the bow and arrow controls in Wind Waker HD.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

It works fine for SP games where you have more time to line up those shots accurately, but in an online MP environment where you win or lose gun battles in milliseconds, it probably isn't the best choice.

Yeah, gyro controls are unfortunate if you can test it for only a few minutes. That doesn't mean that it won't work, I even play NFS: Most Wanted with gyro controls while I crashed all the time with them at the beginning.

I just watched a video and they said that you play with both sticks and use the gyro for fine adjustment.

The game could be interesting because it will feature different classes in the final version. Should be a $30 game.

I don' t think so. You can choose wheter you wanna play with gyro or right stick, I don't think you can use em at the same time. But I am gonna ask again to be sure

Yeah, gyro controls can take a hike, where my IR pointer at?

Presumably coming, since there's supposed to be local multiplayer.

I have asked them and yes you can use both the gyro and the right at the same time

I heard that one of them said it's the best way to play the game.  I assume you use the gyro to do those quick movements and the right stick for precision.

Indeed. Nintendo would be quite in error to miss this opportunity.

Hey, they came through for Pikmin.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

This looks great and have alot of teamwork depth strategy potantial. But sadly we all know it won't have voice chat so we won't be able to talk strategy like who goes where and does what which could be a crucial element.

Having ppl defend, stay at high places, we can even have someone sneaking in squid form deep into enemy base and have the others join him by that teleporting mechanic once hes there and paint all over the enemy base. That could go crazy but we won't be able to plan good strategies thx to Nintendo's stubborness of not allowing ppl to communicate into their games! Damn it Nintendo!

@Bold:  Actually, someone had asked about voice chat in the game and one of the developers said that they are planning on having full voice chat in the game.

Hmm, do you have a link? Because I watched a interview from IGN where they asked a dev that same question and he answered ''We do plan on introducing some sort of communication features'' but w/o confirming voice chat. Right before this sentence he explained that thx to the gamepad, you can at all time see where are you allies and what they are doing so you can figure out on your own what to do. Basicaly my translation would be ''We know this is not the answer that your viewers want to hear so we won't give you a straight ''no'', but we will give you a explanation(excuse) on why it won't support it even tho the real reasons is that here at Nintendo we are too uptight when it comes to online''.

Here's the link http://ca.ign.com/videos/2014/06/11/splatoon-gameplay-demo-ign-live-e3-2014 the question come at 4:10. But I would loooove to see voice chat in that game, so if you could send me a link to where you heard this it would be appreciated.
