Too much of a crowded market with some really, really strong and entrenched competition.

I have no idea what you're saying here but if it's that Sony markets products as well as Apple then you've fallen off your rocker.

Look at the dates, look how long tablets have been on the market. Apple dominated the tablet space with marketting not innovation. Sony was mentioned no where in that post so you clearly werent thinking if you came to the conclusion that I think Sony markets as well as apple. There is no evidence that I was suggesting that claim. Simply that if Sony market it correctly, it doesn't matter how entrenched the competiton is.

lets break this down shall we:

Um, because I hate the concept behind it and you asked why will it flop.

Why exactly does your hate of a product decide that it will flop? Maybe you should take your feelings out of the equation

Why would people ever want to play a Vita game on a TV? Most people don't even want the Vita as a portable device. And why would I ever be jelous of it? It hasn't even released yet and if I really wanted one, then its only 100 bucks but I wouldn't even pay $50 for it.

Even offering PS now on TV and mobile devices sounds sily to me.

I mean its perfectly fine if they offer older games on playstation devices and its a good idea, but what's the point of realeasing them on the other devices? People will need to subscribe for it and buy a controller as well. I think its very unlikely that people that want to play games will subscribe to this and buy a controller since it would be easier and better for them to go buy a ps3 instead since its pretty cheap now.

You have no idea the details behind PS Now so you are talking out of pure ignorance.

And you should learn to be polite and civil, and avoid telling people to shut up. I could report you for that but I won't.

You're threating to report me? You were the one that was flaming and offtopic. I told you to explain why it'll flop and you respond by calling PSTV and PS Now stupid. I have no civility for those who are obviously trolling. Go ahead make my day.

And another thing, the idiom "So you might want to put up or shut up" means that you should back up what you're saying when your talking bad about something or someone. Something you clearly don't understand, because if you did you would've responded with actual points instead of threatening to report me. AS IF YOU DID NOTHING WRONG.

I said its concept is bad and that's why it will flop. Its just my opinion. Its much more likely to flop than do well though. Even you know that since you made this thread and almost everyone in this thread has said the same thing.

From what we know about PS now so far, I just stated my thoughts about it.

I have never been accused of flaming before, and have never been moderated for doing it either.  If you think I did something wrong, then maybe you should report me. I just stated my opinion like everyone does on a forum...

Don't say Japan, Japan is literally the worst place for the PSTV, and as this generation has proven, the worst market to compare to America.

I've seen a whole bunch of claims that the PSTV will flop with little reasoning, people had stronger justification for the PS4 being a flop before it released.

I was catiously optimisitic when they announced it as VitaTV, and I'm cautiously optimistic now. Its cheaper than the 2DS, has a library that basically dwarfs this gen and last gen, cheapest way to get remote play if you have a PS4. Its the perfect entry console and can easily be a side console if you haven't played in the PS ecosystem before. Other than the motion controls that set the Wii off, it basically is set up just like it, and Sony typically doesn't have the advertising issues for them to market incorrectly here in the states.

I can't predict another PS2/DS/Wii but I don't understand how some people are can be so certain its will flop.

I would say "Cautiously optimistic" is the perfect way to put it.  If Sony marketed the living hell out of it, I could see it capturing a big portion of the set-top box market and selling ~5-10m a year.

Vita sold 1 mil YTD
8 million LTD
DEC 2011

PSTV just needs to sell a million this year.
Autumn 2014
It has the most potential out of any 8th gen system.

EDIT: according to the reactions of the debbie downers, this should end up just like the PS4.

There is no evidence that suggests that Sony markets as well as Apple.  End of story, pretty much.

Then why did you think I was suggesting it?
Keyword: if

Who mentioned anything about marketting as good as Apple, I merely said they have to advertise it correctly. As an entry console it is virtually uncontested, as a media box it serves the vast majority of the competition's services.

It won't be popular, I don't know if that's considered a failure or not though.

It's more of a direct competitor to the Apple TV's and Roku's of the world. Not to mention Chromecast etc... Not to mention that for what it's supposed to do, it's also competing against the PS4, PS3 etc...

Hows is this competing against PS4 and PS3? I have both and this is a must buy largely BECAUSE i have a PS4.

Is there an official list of vita games that are and are not compatible with vita/pstv? Because there are only three games that I really want to play for the vita and I've heard that at least two of them are incompatible in uncharted and gravity rush (the other being person 4 golden).

That's pretty much why.
