Make that "best looking console game" and we can start talking.
Still seriously doubt though that it will be locked at 60fps.

show me a better looking pc game?

I've seen someone play an older release of Star Citizen on a 30" 2560x1600 display, and it was ludicrous. In a different way.

I think the art direction and attention to detail in UC4 will be tops myself. It will just be a different focus. Seeing even BF4 in Ultra at 1440p on a 27" @ 100+FPS on a 290X Xfire rig is mind boggling as well. The totally clean lack of aliasing, incredible draw distances, etc.

Not everything has to be put in a head to head where only one is the 'best'. UC4 will look freaking awesome is all I can say, and the UHD PC games will be superb as well. The new Batman running on a supreme rig at way past 1080P will be excellent.

This coming year we will have a wave of 60hz 3840x2160 displays coming in, along with 20nm Maxwell and Intel 5xxx series. A system like that running Batman in 4K @ 60fps all maxed out? IDK.

Hell even now some of the Skyrim mods are ridiculous. Truly. They even fix the modeling.

It'll most likely be the most technically accomplished game on consoles, but by then PC hardware will have moved on. Programming to the metal will reduce the gap, but ultimately there will still be a power divide between a PS4 and a top-end gaming PC in 2015.

Ive seen PC games and I dont know how many exclusive PC games take advantage of the graphics for their fanbase without alienating quite a few people. Outside of Crysis its a well known fact that not every has an extremely powerful PC. On consoles everyones power is equal and the games can be optimized for one set box. Its as simple as that. The more you limit things the more you can set the bar for what that box has to offer.

But you can take a game that already looks great, like Witcher 3, and crank up the resolution, AA, fps, etc well beyond console capacity.

Yeah, but guess what? Only a few people will experience that huge optimization and people on consoles will mostly enjoy it equally and respond to a similar type of material. Nothing is created equal in the PC realm which is why peoples answers cannot be gauged accurately. Sure, its higher than consoles, but in the end...what does that amount to if only a small amount of people get to enjoy the full power? Sorry. I'll take the console version and the console exclusives to boot which will grace us with more well tailored games suited exclusively for our consoles. The graphics will be beautiful, the effort will be honorable and everyone can enjoy the game in unison and say "hey, this game is amazing". Nintendos games have beautiful art style and look how they are taking advantage of last gen graphics. Only Nintendo can do that so well and that sealed my Wii U purchase next year for sure.

Uncharted 4 promo pic.

The reason UC1 looks so bad is cos the PS3 was incredibly hard to code for and they weren't able to fully tap the PS3's power.

PS4 by contrast is famously easy to program for.

The Xbox 360 games from that time looked remarkably similar.

LOL Like? In that time period, Heavenly Sword and Uncharted stood alone as far as graphics are concerned.

Taking into consideration that PC's have been putting out better looking or equal quality looking games for many years on high settings, anyone with half a brain in their head will have to say no, it will not be the best looking game ever made. Nice try though.

Gears of War looked good. Uncharted looks nothing like that on my plasma, it had screen tearing like a bitch though.

Thats not true, UC1 came out a year after the ps3 launch, sametime as amount of time the gears of war came out on 360 and guess what UC1 looks much better, it wasn't even close because of the great lighting UC1 compared to gears of war.

Example? With a screenshot for comparison?

What PC games are you talking about? ...and for many years?! Screenshots please if you have any. But seriously, either nobody cares about those "crazy looking" games or there are just none and you are trolling. I haven't seen any games on PC that look that good. Watch Dogs even on ultra settings was quite a disappointment for the PC community. The next hope for PC gamers will definitely be The Witcher 3. Sure, the environments look superb, but the faces look cartoonish, especially the facial animations look not even better than animations of particular last gen games. Besides Drake's face also foliage, lighting, shadows, anti-aliasing, level of detail and other aspects look absolutely magnificent. In fact, it looks so damn good that many gamers and even journalists thought it was CG footage, not something I ever heard anyone saying about PC graphics. So your argument is really outrageous and utterly wrong. Plus, nobody gave you the right to insult the people in this forum. Show some respect kid!
