And yes.. MCC will be great for the folks who hasn't played Halo or missed out on some of the sequels and owns the new system, but they could easily go out and buy a super reduced price version of the same games on their 360. |
My point remains as well. It may encourage more people to get a X1 even if not the sole reason.
Its obviously something a lot of Xbox fans want, period. Therefore it may encourage some 360 users to upgrade this holiday.
Ultimately... who cares? This isn't something really worth getting worked up over.

I'm a sales analyst at a research firm. I thought everyone here was the same. Also, Halo 5 will sell horribly relative to what it typically sells. I predect 3-5 million LTD. |
Lmao. U expect halo 5 to sell 3-5 million. Haha. Halo 4 is at 9 million and to quote Microsoft it is the fastest selling halo game. If ur argument is that it's releasing on a small user ase it's also invalid. Halo 3 launched when the 360 had 11 million consoles or so and it still sold 3.8 million first week. Not even odst sold less than 5 million copies and that was an expansion. I don't know how anyone could expect less than 8 million lifetime. I'm sure ur opinion will change when u see the master chief collection sell 1.5-2.5 million copies first week.
Halo MCC will sell 5+ million copies(including digital)
halo 5 will sell 10 million copies(including digital)
x1 will pass ps4 in USA, and UK.

That prediction is too high.
I'd like to see it happen, but 500K - 700K might be more realistic for first week.

Halo 5 will do 6-8 million at most, due to lower install base, tarninishing of the brand, and overuse of the IP. |
No offense but I remember when halo 3 was announced people said it would sell poorly because halo 2 tarnished the brand, and a low install base. It's at 12 million
i remember when people said halo odst would only sell 2 million cause it was an expansion. It sold 6 million
i remember when people said reach would sell 6 million cause of overuse, tarnishing, and not having MC I'm it. It's at 9.5 million
Remember when people said halo 4 would sell 7 million max because people don't like halo anymore, it's been done to death, and other reasons. Last time I checked it's at 9 million and according to Microsoft the fastest selling halo ever.
now I'm hearing from a lot of people that halo will sell 3-7 million. Lol I guess ur entitled to ur opinion. I fully expect halo 5 to sell 10 million copies or more. As halo 3, reach and 4 have or will when it's all said and done.
Halo MCC will sell 5+ million copies(including digital)
halo 5 will sell 10 million copies(including digital)
x1 will pass ps4 in USA, and UK.

not arguing bro. just facing reality. like i've commented.. should sell well.. but it's not the console pusher some gamers are making it out to be. gen8 for gen8 games.. not gen 6 & 7 remakes.
Man.. I hate it when your girl has to leave my place to come back to you..

I think that's a little low. Halo 1 AE did almost 750k, that was 1 week after call of duty and skyrim, and the same week as assassins creed. Also it didn't have it's own multiplayer it had reaches, with some maps. There was not very much buzz around it at all. Not that much hype, only really hardcore halo gamers cared at all. A lot of my friends didn't even get it because it had reaches multiplayer. There's a lot more hype with this one. All my halo friends are gunna get it. 1 million is the absolute lowest in my opinion, but it's just my opinion.

| BillyBong said: so.. again, drop your 360 and backlog for an xb1 and the same games you already have and a much much less backlog? And as for MP, do you realize how fragmented the MP community will be because each game will have their own separate MP component? If MCC is only great because of Halo2's MP, then why not just a remake of Halo 2 and not fragment the community. All this is redundant.. I see the value for new gamers. For "older/core/faithful" gamers like yourself, this is a slap in the face to rebuying what you already have because it's prettier.. then again, it's not like Halo was known for being pretty games, so like Titanfall.. you are buying it for MP... but not like Titanfall, it's 4 games with different MP... which kills the community aspect, once again. |
People are letting their nostalgia get the better of them. For the most part, this collection won't appeal to the mainstream that make Halo so huge. It's going to sell very well, but it won't move systems. Titanfall was supposed to do the same thing and it couldn't. People just don't learn to temper their expectations and come November NPD, will once more have an eye opener.
Here's how I predict the year will go:
Only one game will signifanctly boost X1 sales, and it's not coming out till next year, that's Halo 5.
The Destiny bundle is already number 3 on Amazon, people are expecting way, way too much out of the Halo collection. Get a grip guys or you'll be disappointed!
No matter how many exclusives Sony put out, they never got around the 360 last gen. It's similar for MS this gen, they screwed up, Halo 5 is coming in too late.

I might be missing somethign here but... You say you didn't know there was one but you know 10 people who are buying an Xbox One just for this? If you didn't know of it then how would you know the reasoning behind the 10 peoples purchase?
