Forza H1 did sell horribly. And honestly H2 looks carbon copy of FH1. Drive club hyped a lot and looks very good.

What did you think? Delaying the game and then "hey guys, now you have to buy it to play  it"? That would be really fucked up from them...

about the topic:

I think DriveClub as long as the PS+ version won't be so big that nobody needs the full version. 

DriveClub is pretty much the first racer on PS4 if you count NfS out which is more like a game for people who like "stupid fun" in racers. Not sure how I shall call what I mean.

Forza Horizon has a much smaller console base to sell on. It has Forza 5 as competition (I'm sure some who will buy an Xbox One after the Horizon release or even now will buy Forza 5 instead but would buy Horizon without Forza 5) and Playstation tends to be more the platform for racing fans. I think multiplat racers sold also always better on PS3 as on 360.

So, more competition on Xbox One, less sold Xbox Ones and more racing fans on Playstation. Sounds pretty good for DriveClub as long as it won't be enough to play the PS+ version.

Week 1 will be FH2 but in the end both will sell around the same. I'm guessing around 2M

Forza Horizon 2 will sell more on XB1 than DriveClub on PS4. It's an established franchise.

Well they both have their up's and downs.
Driveclub is ps4 only so that means it can get a lot of sales.
FH2 is on 2 platforms. 360 will take some sales away from its younger brother and vice versa.
FH2 is open world but driveclub isn't.
I will probably get both but just the free version for driveclub.

Sold almost 2 million copies (not counting digital sales) so it didn't sell "horribly"
