I dont think so.. Even then i would argue that once again xbox is not a necessity to have. Almost all of their exclusives end up on pc so unless you cannot live without halo then the best 3 way combo out there would be a ps4 wii u and pc. Of course if you have no interest in strategy games then you might view it differently

Horizon 2 will never be on PC.

So it was obviously a 6 month exclusive deal before a PC release. I would say we should know this holiday whether or not it will ever happen. It's either a 1 year or forever.

probably not.

DR3 was fun but there isn't anything else out there that i like from them.

I like Street Fighter, Mega Man, Dragon's Dogma, DMC and Monster Hunter as well, but one is on the DS and I'll have to wait for another Dragons Dogma. Capcom makes good games, but I don't know if its even on par with Sony these days. Back in the PS1 and PS2 era? Most definitely.

Mega man was fun back in the day. Also street fighter

SF4 was not as good as the old school ones.

Theres a lot more competition these days, so I can understand why you would feel that way though. Street Fighter was on top and truthfully as a fighting game fan i can say Street Fighter 4 is basically the best of what the old Street Fighter games were and more. Marvel vs Capcom is no more as well. Marvel has stripped most publishers of their development rights for marvel products so MvC looks like its finished.

If you understand Sonys development patterns, that they would've bought Superbot if Battle Royale would've sold well enough. Insomniac and Sony had a second party deal for almost twenty years. In the PS2 era Sony Japan also known as Team ICO made classics. Naughty Dog and Insomniac have been partners with Sony since they entered the console business. Naughty Dog's connection to Sony actually made a lot of sense. Both like to make epic, movie-like games with great characters.

Superbots main owners were former Sony employees who worked for Sony Santa Monica and formed Superbot in 2009. I am sure they cut a deal to purchase Superbot if PSBR sold well.

Yes, I know that pattern. I mentioned it before when I said several of Sony's new IPs were created by studios that weren't owned by Sony. They will be using 3rd parties for new IPs again.

It doesn't matter if Sony would have bought Superbot. Sony let a 3rd party handle Playstation Battle Royale, so its silly to mock MS for letting a 3rd party handle KI. Sony is also relying on 3rd parties for ports of PS2 games, upcoming exclusives, etc. That's all fine with me, but its clear relying on 3rd parties bothers you and you ignore how much Sony does it.

Sony only buys companies who creatively share their views and gains success. Look at Sucker Punch. Do you see much of a difference between them Naughty Dog and what Insomniac used to created whe they were exclusive to Sony? They aren't like Microsoft. Insomniac is first party now and they believe Infamous represents Sony. Sonys development is based on great conceptual ideas and similar development patterns to form what is known as "Sony quality". Microsofts games come from everywhere and anywhere because they are willing to pay anyone because internally they dont come up with much. Microsoft has even professed how much of a risk it is to develop when reporters questioned their lack of internal exclusives. Of course it is, especially when you're terrible at it.

KI wasn't even originally developed under Microsoft. They take what they can get. Fans never know where their games are coming from. Sony fans have built up a trust with Sony development for over twenty years. It says a lot. The only development that is stable in Microsoft is 343 and Turn 10. Seriously.

Sony is reliant on all parties, not just third parties so it doesn't annoy me when they do. Their first party more often than not is on point and they create great first party. When they do create games with third party is usual in tandem with one of their internal teams unlike Microsoft. Demon Souls anyone? Flower? The Order? Thats how Sony works. If they want something done right they know they need to involve themselves in the task like Nintendo. They both don't just throw money aimlessly at third party. Project Beast is another tandem project between Sony and Software.

Speaking of third party, MS and that three game deal with Silicon Knights was such a joke. They are doing it again Crytek and for Microsofts sake hopefully it works because they need as much third party as many exclusives as they can get.

I guess i am getting older and loosing interest in some games. Never been big on fighting games but i played the hell out of mortal kombat and killer instinct. My 2 favorite best fighting games of all time. I also enjoyed king of fighters back in the day.

No one said the PC version existing means its not the Xbox version wasnt "real". It just means Microsofts internal development game is very weak.

R.I.P.

Black Tusk new IP because MS doesn't like endorse creativity and new games 2012-2014.

Gears of War here we come!

Profit status quo > Profit and new IPs

I'm saying the enjoyment was real and a PC port has no impact on that. Furthermore, its only avilable to those that actually have a high end gaming PC running Windows. We can presume that's a small minority which is why console games never struggle because of PC ports.

Well fuck, not every studio can create great new IPs like Knack and think of original ideas like a driving game. I think you also ignore Sony is recycling a lot of IPs and relying heavily other studios to bring new IPs.

New IPs will be found on X1 and PS4 whether they are 1st party, 2nd party, and even 3rd party. You're too personally invested in this stuff, its a waste of time.

We've all invested time in talking about games on this site. Its no lie gaming is a favorite passtime for some of us.New IPs will be found on Microsofts console, but not comparabe by a longshot with Sony when it comes to internal dependability. With MS you don't really know where most of their exclusives are coming from. They kind of just throw money everywhere, so they dont build a fleet of studios that are dependable. Even Killer Instinct shall not be touched by MS first party. At this rate I am not even mad about that any longer.

Mad about KI for what?

No previous Forza game was ever on PC so its a save bet that Horizon 2 will never be on the PC.  Also arcade type racers aren't very popular on PC anyway so porting it wouldn't make much sense or be profitable in the long run.

The game is really fun. I am saying there was no way MS would entrust that game to their first party. Says a lot about their confidence in their own first party. This is twice now that they've given development of KI to third party. It seems like when they bought Rare their IPs were really all that mattered in the end. Thats huge when you dont have a good track record of making them yourself.
