Forums - Gaming - Dead Rising 3 is Coming to Steam

You guys are going to love Dead Rising 3, it is so much fun, great game, feels like a horror B movie, like a George Romero flick, so cool!

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

Still glad I got it on the X1 instead love the achievements and challenges they attached to it. I will look better on the PC but only if have a top notch rig and it will not have any achievements or challenges attached to it.

Steam has an achievement system, too. Probably the Steam achievements and challenges of DR3 PC will be identical to DR3 XBO.

Well the X1 also has limited time challanges which is something they don't have on the PC.  Did a bunch of them in Forza 5 and a couple of them in Dead Rising 3 one of them even unlocked a nice extra item in the game a Happy New Year hat.

And why do you think, other versions of DR3 will not have time challenges and won't unlock extra items outside the game? Steam has hats and many other virtual items, too. They have even a trading platform integrates for trading cards and virtual items... for some items you get ridiculous high prices to buy whole games.

I don't get posts like "ms doesn't want me to buy their console". The game is like 7 months old now. Will be 8 or 9 months old by the time this PC port is out. If the game wasn't enough to make you buy the console by now, it wasn't going to be enough whether it remained exclusive or not.

Could be more to it, maybe the price of the console is to much for them to fork out that kind of money for atm. I really want MK on the WiiU but can't afford it atm, even though it would never happen lets just say it came to PC in that period where I couldn't afford the console....Well there goes my reason for buying a WiiU. This could easily be the case for people with that argument.

it will be cheaper on steam and the graphic will blow the xbone away...  thats a realy problem for m$

PC games are always going to look better and be cheaper. Yet the money is on consoles. Probably because that's where more gamers are. It's not an issue for a vast majority of people. I just think it's funny that this 7 month old game is someones main reason for wanting an Xbox One yet they don't have one, and a PC port suddenly makes it irrelevant.

Plus the minimum specs aren't exactly cheap.

Many PC Gamers are extremely patience. Waiting for full priced games to be discounted on Steam cause once its on Steam, it usually isn't going anywhere.

I mean GTA V is 9 months old and many are still waiting on a PC release.

Also the minimum specs are becoming standard as the PC paradigm shifts, MID tier becomes lowtier, HIGH tier becomes Midteir, etc...

The trailer impressed me quite a bit. Huzzah!

And if/when GTA V launches on PC it will sell a fraction of what it sold on consoles. Again, extreme minority of people would be affected. Yet to read the Internets thoughts on this it seems DR3 was the most anticipated game for those who supposedly want it and an Xbone yet have neither for whatever reason.

Can we assume that the same will happen to Deep Down since both are Capcom games?

You're missing the point. The fact is that people ,regardless of how small, are waiting for it. Microsoft would not willingly port an exclusive to PC, unless it was an exclusive on their vending platform the W8 store irc, the fact that its on Steam, means that they did not pay for full exclusivity. While this might make exclusives cheaper for them in the long run, it also harms the XB1 because it decreases its exclusive library (which is of paramount importance), its multiplat library being moot because PCs have , generally, the best and the cheapest multiplats, and PS4 has the best console multiplats.

While it arguably made sense with 360 as their first party exclusives with the multiplat advantage was enough to sway the US, but the XB1 and 360 share few similarties if we are talking pros and cons.

The ironic thing is that many MS execs have claimed that they are in this for the long game. I refuse to believe they did it on purpose until I have some confirmation of the fact, but by Allowing this to happen they are directly contradicting this claim by reducing their exclusive library. To add insult to injury, PS Now makes gives the PS4 backwards compatibility, which doesn't necessarily increase its exclusive library since PS Now can be used on multiple devices, but it does increase its library hugely.

To think, streaming games has already been commercially tested, should be an easy task for the XB1 and the cloud and yet the closest thing we're getting to that from MS is a Halo Collection.

Well I don't play games on steam since my PC is pretty weak plus consoles where always my platform of choice.  As far as consoles go the X1 is the only system right now where each game has limited time challenges.
