Around the Network

15 third party

8 first party

So, roughly 2:1 in favor of third party.

I am pretty sure that this quesiton has been asked already...

"I've Underestimated the Horse Power from Mario Kart 8, I'll Never Doubt the WiiU's Engine Again"

Lets see... Wii u games I own that are not VC

Retail games (First Party):

Super Mario 3D world
Super Mario Bros. U
New Super Luigi U - not sure if this counts because it is technically a DLC
Nintendo Land
Donkey Kong Country Tropical freeze
Wonderful 101 - Not sure on this one... First Party IP but third party developer
Mario and Sonic Olympic games - not sure if should be classified as 1st or 3rd
Wii Party U
Wii Fit U - not sure if this counts or not.
Pikmin 3
Mario Kart 8
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD
Game & Wario

Retail games (Third Party):
Assassin's Creed 4
Assassin's Creed 3
Scribblenauts Unlimited
Lego City
Monster Hunter 3
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed
Tank! Tank! Tank! - know, poke fun at me but I got it at a free game to get the 60 coins on Club Nintendo and I did buy one thing off of it so this is why I am including it.

So yeah, going by this list, I have more first Party games than 3rd with a ration of 13:7

Now if I include my E-shop titles... this is where the list gets huge. Now this is all my E-sop titles that are NOT part of the virtual console.

E-shop games (First Party):
NES Remix 2
NES Remix 1
Dr. Luigi
Wii Sports Club - Just Tennis and Bowling
Art Academy: SketchPad

E-Shop Games (Third Party):

Squids Odyssey
Swords & Soldiers
Unepic
CastleStorm
Toki Tori
Toki Tori 2+
Mighty Switch Force! 2
Mighty Switch Force: Hyper Drive Edition
Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara
DuckTales: Remastered
Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams
Cloudberry Kingdom
Mutant Mudds Deluxe
Kung Fu Rabbit
Zen Pinball 2
The Cave
Little Inferno
Nano Assault Neo
Trine 2: Director's Cut

Games to own by the end of today (yeah, adding this as today was payday):

Child of light

Ittle Dew

And that's all of them.... yeah I know it is a lot The E-shop titles are obviously mostly 3rd party but the ratio between first and third for them is a lot smaller.

(Sorry, this was a double post and I'm not sure how to remove it.I don't see any options to delete)

That's actually tricky. Nintendo owns the IP but platinum developed it so...hmm

It's more first party than third party. I counted it as first party.

When they own the IP but have a third party develop it we call it 2nd party ^^

I wonder what we'd call Bayonetta 2. They technically own the rights to the second title, but don't actually own the series IP. That's like 2.5th party xD

Stolen from http://nintendo.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Second_party_developers

"A second party developer is a developer who is tied to a specific console manufacturer by contract or partial ownership"

Platinum is not tied to nintendo. (They developed a Metal Gear Game for PS3 and X360 in 2013)

They are third party.

I have quite a few third parties but thanks to no more support from them and nintendo pretty much lone wolfing it I will most be having nintendo games on my system. The third party this year is going to be on my 360 and ps3. Next year it will be on ps4. I am not missing out on awesome games because nintendo can not get their stuff together.

1st:

New Super Mario Bros U
Super Mario 3D World
Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze
Nintendo Land
Wind Waker HD
Pikmin 3

3rd:

Scribblenauts Unlimited
ZombiU
Duck Tales (Woo-oooh!)
Cloudberry Kingdom
Trine 2
Toki Tori 2
Rush

Edge

Mighty Switch Force: Hypee Drive Edition

Kung Fu Rabbit

"Ok, girl's trapped in the elevator, and the power's off.  I swear, if a zombie comes around the next corner..."

4 1st Party. 5 3rd Party, many of which are EA and the EA ones are the worst games I own due to bad porting, unplayable frame rate and other issues. The 1st Party games and Rayman Legends are among my favorite games of all time.

I have 7 wii u games

2 are 3rd party. Rayman Legends and ZombiU

the rest are 1st party. Pikmin 3, Zelda Windwaker HD, Super Mario 3D world, DKC tropical freeze and Mario Kart 8

Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030
