Mario Kart 8 is my 8th first party title and I also have 8 3rd party titles. Yes, I am serious^^ And 4 of them are Ubisoft games.

 

wait a second...  somehow Half-Life 3 has to be confirmed with that numbers...

I currently have 100% 1st party if you count W101 as 1st party, which as I said I do. But if you count Indie games, I have several games I plan to buy that would balance it out to 50% each, once I can afford said games.


...No. Same doesn't go for Lego City Undercover. That's a third party exclusive. Just because Nintendo published it doesn't mean it's first party. Nintendo actually owns the rights to W101. They don't own the rights to Lego, Sonic, or Bayonetta, three franchises with games published by Nintendo.

Someone couldn't just not count W101 as first party. They'd be wrong. It is first party and that's not up for debate. Not because Nintendo published it, but because Nintendo created and owns the IP. It's a first party IP being developed by a 3rd party studio. It's literally the exact same situation as the Oracle games. The only reason there is confusion is because it's a new IP.

Some one else tried calling Platinum 2nd party. They're not. They're third party. A company like Gamefreak is second party. I'm pretty sure Rareware was 2nd party as well, hence why Microsoft was able to buy them. Microsoft couldn't ever buy Retro, because they are first party.

2 1st party, 1 3rd party. I'm not counting Nintendo Land, as it came with my console and wasn't purchased separately.

I do plan to get Black Flag, I had rented it and was impressed. I'll probably get Pikmin 3 for free as part of buying MK8 at launch.
