Forums - Gaming - Who will come out on top in the Call of Duty 2014 Battle? UPDATE: Playstation takes the Ghosts battle

It depends on how much he price drop changes things, but I think:
US it will be close between ps4 and xb1
EU will be ps4 by a good margin. Think about it: ps3 COD versions always outsold 360, so I think itll be domination for ps4 vs. xb1.
Global I think will have ps4 ontop by 1-2million or more

I expect crappy CoD sales on PS360, so the much bigger PS4 install base compared to Xb one should mean PS platforms outsell Xb platforms.

Ps4 wins easily vs xbo, 360 wins easily over ps3 (us only). Globally it will be a ludicrous beating.

Remember that ghosts sales were close because there was no gap for 2013. The gap is rather large now, and growing daily.

I'm going to have to say PS4

Two big things will hurt CoD on XB1 this time around :

(1)- A very significant gap is now there in US install base for PS4 over XB1. People that play online games are more likely to move where they know more people are headed, or purchase the same console that friends and family have already moved to.

--

(2)- 720p Ghosts, and now 900p (?) COD:AW on XB1 vs. 1080P PS4. The story is retold every single major multiplatform title : the XB1 version is inferior. Regardless of how serious the actual gap, which varies from title to title from insignificant to fairly large, it's bad PR and bad mojo for XB1. Few neutral people when given the choice of equally priced versions will be happy to buy the 'lesser' version.

But :

Microsoft could spend a bunch of money for huge marketing/exclusive content for the XB1 version, in which case the gap might be pretty tight. Still, it's hard to overcome both a big install base gap and quality gap with just that.

welp it's going to be funny revisiting some of these posts in the future. glad i tagged it.

Given how, even in the US, third party have been becoming increasingly more popular on the PS4. Watch Dogs and Wolfenstein are perfect examples. Cod:Ghost on PS4 is still the best selling 8th gen title and maintaining its lead over the XBone version. I honestly see Advanced Warfare only increasing that trend given the fast growing PS4 install base. Not to mention, the PS4 version will very likely once again be the definitive console version. He'll I even see PS4 getting DLC first on Cod coming out after AW, since that MS-Acti contract will once again be up.

Call Of Duty: Ghosts is the best-selling current-gen game so far, but the PS4 version isn't the best-selling SKU on current-gen consoles. NSMBU and Nintendo Land have sold better than the PS4 version of COD: Ghosts.

Also its already been confirmed that COD: AW will get DLC first on Xbox consoles.
