I don't really like the god of war series, but they seem inspired from age of mythology lol...
next up.......Chinese gods?that would be cool!!! But Egyptians have always been the most interesting ones to me.

Although Egyptian sounds cool, I just have to worry about how Kratos will come into it. Unless Gods are regional only, but then that sounds silly.
God of War can definitely be a timeless IP. A new hero in a new mythology can work; sort of similar to Zelda except new baddies.

Gaming on: PS4 Pro, Switch, SNES Mini, Wii U, PC (i5-7400, GTX 1060)
If this is true. I'm interested. Never owned a GoW game before, but, this has caught my eye!
So the major consensus here is that most want a new main character. Makes sense! Had a lot of fun last semester reading about Egyptian mythology too!

God of War III practically redefines what the word "scale" means with regards to videogames, as it throws you into scenes with Titans that are larger than entire levels in some other games. The scope of some of these sequences is nothing short of astounding, with playable sequences that take place on creatures the size of a skyscraper. Sony Santa Monica has been promising this all along, but even when you know what sort of experience you're in for, you'll still be blown away by the immensity of some scenes." http://www.ign.com/articles/2010/03/08/god-of-war-iii-review You were saying? |
I hope you don't seriously think that quoting someone elses opinion supports your claim.

And GoW doesn't own scale at all. Unless you think that having a linear level that supposed to aesthetically look like a giant monster equates to scale. I love GoW, but let's not call it something that it isn't. It doesn't matter to me. Not in a game like this, and not when Bayo's story suffices. |
Will you stop talking about Bayonetta in a thread that's got nothing to do with it? We don't like that game and the topic is not about it no matter how fanatic you are about it. Leave or i'll ask everyone here to report you.

God of War III out sold Bayonetta because it's a first party exclusive that is part of an established franchise that is an accessable western style action game being sold in the west with an extremely familiar western style story, that being about greek/roman gods. Bayonetta is a niche japanese new IP that was a completely punishing action game being sold to the west with a nonsensical plot and an extremely unfamiliar plot. |
Graphics and story don't matter? Tell that to all the people who play God Of War mostly for its story, and if you played God Of War III you would have known how epic its boss fights are. Even the PSP God Of War games have more epic boss battles than Bayonetta.
Plus its story is anything but western. It is basically like the tragic tales of Greek mythology. No other game has its kind of a story. As for its combat, its easy to learn but hard to master.
But I know that God Of War is a Sony exclusive so you'll hate on it like you do with all their other games. Which solidifies my belief that you really haven't played any of the GOW games. Plus of course Bayonetta 2 is a Wii U exclusive so you'll praise it like the second coming of God.
Bayonetta is good, but its no God Of War.

You're acting like I tried to derail the thread by going off topic. I literally said that God of War 4 was a game I was interested in. I'm not the one who turned this into a debate about which is better. And Bayonetta 2 being an exclusive game in the same genre is enough of a connection to be brought up. Don't try to spin this like I'm antagonizing the topic. I like GoW and I'm interested in this theoretical game, which I said in my original post. I just am happy that I will be able to play an alternative instead, which is what I said in my original post. I never said or implied Bayo was a better franchise until after someone replied to me with an opinion on the game.

Someone made a reply to my post, and I replied back. You don't get to report an opinion. If you report me for responding, you better report anyone else who both started and responded in turn.
This is a very old rumor to be honest. Santa Monica itself said at somepoint there was this idea to make Kratos go after other pantheons after finishing the Greek one. Imo it work better if it was a new caracter altogether if the game is set in Egypt.
Also Santa Monia needs a new IP they cant expect to live of GoW forever.
Darksiders 2 Wii u version > every version of gow combined.
