Anyone remember the Heavy Rain Promo at E3 2006?

Projet CARS: The Thread.

Come to think of it I believe I remember some 16-bit era bullshots too, but they were hilarious pre-Photoshop attempts. Anyone remember some from the old days? What's the first one you can think of?

It turned out looking exactly the same??

Racers are the worst at this. I think GT really started it, using replay videos or touched up photomode shots and passing them off as gameplay. Like Forza Horizon 2 today had screenshots from IGN. Obvious non-gameplay bullshots.

The KZ2 and Getaway ones are two of the other more blatant ones I can remember. Watch Dogs is up there too. Madden 06 probably the worst ever imho.

space invaders

All those exciting boxes in the old days, then look at the back for the real thing. At least they didn't lie about it back then.

Sony E3 presentations versus reality should be a common theme in this thread.

The weirdest thing is, those are screens from pre-rendered cutscenes from a render farm, I still don't understand why did they change it. They explained it was supposed to look more dirty and realistic in the bus, but it looks flat out worse.

But the in-game footage looks the same as the E3 build and I'm honestly pretty sure about that. Maybe I will jump into U2 again just to check this...

OT: Recently, all the Watch_Dogs bullshots before the release of the game and even within reviews across all video gaming sites. It's sad that publishers have that much influence and can force journalists to only use their own bullshots. I have not seen even one review of WD, which included real in-game screenshots.

Lol, but those are shots from Uncharted 3 and don't bother, I double checked. All those scenes (I think there were 2 more than posted, but those left are arguably same graphics level) are in the game and are different than those from the E3 trailer.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!
