PS4 exclusive? Not my favorite game in the series, but I could use a JRPG to play.
Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Wind Waker looks better on my PC than on Wii U, so I understand your point. But your point won't be appreciated here ;) |
Well this is the objective truth, and yes there plugins and textures for Dolphin that makes Wind Waker look more beautiful than on Wii U, so it was a ridiculous rip-off too.
This backward compatibility vs emulation problem will really be detrimental to consoles if they stop trying to milk people with yet another marketing gimmick.

How? It was basically exactly like the normal system but they moved around more...am I missing something? The difference was merely cosmetic |
It uses the exact same fighting system found in FFXI which was an MMO game. The fightinh in FFXII is nowhere near to the normal conabt system found in the series.

Wind Waker HD also had gameplay changes like the inclusion of the Swift Sail and the Hero Mode, so it wasn't a ridiculous rip-off!

I only hope it won't take them years to put this out, like FFX :( I want to play it this year if possible!

They seriously should be taking it to the PS4 if happening. would get far more coverage and attention. However as it is a ps2 game im not sure technically it would make any difference

The FF XII system was nothing like the others. For one thing you only controlled 1 character and it was like an MMO battle system, obviously taken from FF XI. It was just horrible. FF XIII system was very similar to the good FF battle systems, it was just faster and still only 1 character. IMO FF XIIs battle system is the worst of any rpg ever. |
It honestly reminds me more of the tales of series, whose battle system is very similar, and I do believe came out before ff11.
Also, you could control all the characters, you just switched to them using the r and l buttons.
And, I also liked the gambit system, which allowed my characters to use items and moves that I'd rather not be scrolling around for during a battle. Personally, I enjoyed not having to click attack over and over and over. maybe that's just me though.
Also, in 13, you could decide whether you wanted your teammates to attack on their own or by your input, same as 12. Have you played these games?

So many ports! Its like 2015 is the real year next gen kicks off and this year is all about rereleases to pay the bills.

You could control the actions of your entire party. If you so desire, gambits could be disabled for the entirety of the game.
I also fail to see how it is so drastically different from the rest.

I read somewhere, recently, that when Nintendo remade Ocarina of Time (I think it was that one) for the 3DS (maybe it was some completely different game, don't remember, but that's irrelevant to the point I'm about to make), they left in all the glitches, mistakes, dialogue etc. from the original to make sure not to "take away from the original experience" or something of that nature, and then the game turned out to be a critical and commercial success. |
You're missing the point. It's not the "original experience" - it's just stuff that hasn't aged well. Glitches, dialogues or whatever are really not a good comparison, since those are just minor details. I want you to try to imagine a cutscene envolving a cross-dressing Cloud. Are you sure that something like that is an integral part of FFVII's experience...?

I think we disagree on what control is. In ff13 I can set paradigms however I want and it controls what my teammates do. They do what I want them to do, I just don't have to tell them what to do at every step of the game. If I want them to attack normally, I can. If I want them to do high damage stagger attacks, I can make them do that. They don't just do what they want.
And there is even more control in ff12, since gambits are extremely complex.
In both games I've controlled what my characters do at all times. Really don't know what you're tlaking about. Just because I don't have to put inputs in every second doesn't mean I'm not controlling them.
This is especially helpful, as I've always preferred the active time battle system, and always used that battle option in the previous games, because I try to do the inputs as fast as possible. Again, searching for specific spells and items, etc is extremely cumbersome in this type of battle because while I'm searching for the antidote, my enemies are attacking in real time.
