ff12 had awesome gamaeplay, but the story was really really bad.

I felt that FFXII's strengths were FFX's weaknesses and vice versa. Voice acting was really good, but at the same time, the lack of a main character irritated me. For the life of me, I wasn't sure if Vaan, Ashe, Balthier, or Bosch is the main characters because the focus kept fluctuating.

As much as I like XII. I really wish they would localize Type-0 first.

Final Fantasy IX will also become a reality........ Right, Square Enix? RIGHT?!

thats disappointing if true. thats the worst FF game in the entire series

I'd lay down preorder money on FFXII HD Remaster. That game is my favorite FF after VII.

It'd also be cool if they double packaged it with a HD console port of Revenant Wings.

it had the typical old fasioned MMO style battle wher you can't do anything or avoid attacks. to me that was the worst battle system for the series

Square, stop remastering/remaking every Final Fantasy except the one we want *ahem*VII*ahem*. I believe one of the higher ups said that they'd do it if it was a smart financial move. It's been almost 10 years since the tech demo was shown and we're still begging for it. Wtf more do they want?

I liked 12 a lot so I'm fine with it. However, X and XII are probably the 2 FFs that really dont need much of an upgrade, they still look fairly decent even after being PS2 games. The PS1 games... have not aged as well, especially VII. After 12 they need to do the PS1 trilogy :P

HD remastering FFX and FFXII is a hell of a lot easier than HD remastering FF7 would be. With the PS2 games, all that's really needed is to pretty up the textures and backgrounds. Remastering FF7 in HD, unless you just wanted something that looked like the Eidos-made PC version of FF7 that's already on Steam, would be basically developing a completely new game from the ground up.

Oh yes, please do. FFXII is already a really pretty game. Imagining that in HD... oh my.

And they consider X/X-2 Remaster a success? The same company that deemed Tomb Raider, Hitman and Sleeping Dogs as failures? Are they... starting to get their shit together...?

Actually they said Tomb Raider was fine after the Definitive Edition. But you're right that on last-gen consoles it never met "expectations".

Yes, because they thought the game could do better. It's expected that big games do far more than break even. I don't understand why people get on their case about that.

Yeah I guess it somewhat shows the trend AAA games are taking. Bioshock Infinite sold great but it didn't meet their expectations as well. Games are getting expensive to make.
