I... uhhh,... well, I saw it coming. Kinda expecting the Wii-U to sell up to 2 million over the next two months.

Insane! I had it pegged for 550k worldwide since the Wii U has about 1/4 the installed base of the Wii at the time launch. Just shows how starved Wii U owners are for 1st party goodness! Mighty impressive, can't wait to see the hardware numbers!
HAHA I knew it would sell more than Titanfall and inFamous. Took them over 3 weeks to sell 1m and it took Mario Kart a weekend

Hardware is up 666% in UK alone, so I think hardware is pretty strong with sales.

Impressive numbers but that is expected when the fanbase buy a WiiU to play these games. Now what Iam eager to contemplate is how many hardware it will move and that's, obviously, where Nintendo has to prove something.

It should outsell NSMBU which sits at 4mil and still growing. I think the lowestis 5.5mil (gba), if WiiU sells at least 14mil lifetime, mk8 should be about 6mil sold imo. |
Isn't that proving tbone51's point? If Mario Kart 8 sells roughly 6 million copies, that is less than every single Mario Kart game except for Mario Kart: Super Circuit on the Game Boy Advance (as you've pointed out).
(Not approving of Polygon's incorrect forecast, but using it to show lifetime sales of previous Mario Kart games)

Apart from that, Nintendo should be celebrating!
This news made my day! Love the game, and enjoying the free Pikmin 3 game I got with it!
