Imo, all reviews, reviewers and game critics are worthless, until they adhere to a uniform set of metrics.  You have every single entity out there rating games on differing benchmarks, which can change from game to game even in the same company.  Best source for games info is friends of like minded interests.  I trust them more than any current gaming 'analyst' out there.

I'm against the score system used by reviewers.People don't read the reviews, they just scroll down to the score. I prefer the Kotaku's YES or NO system.I think it's more fair that way.

That's a little less useless than the current systems people employ, but if everyone isn't using the same metrics, it's only going to do so much good.  I agree though, many people don't read the reviews, which is silly.  It's just easier for me to trust friends who have like-minded tastes in gaming.

And then they say that Xbox fans are all over shooters, when they themselves ignore the greatness of God Of War cause its not a shooter. I really dislike hypocrates, even if the are fellow PS fans. Seems like God Of War would get the attention it deserves more on Xbox than it does on PS.

I have to ask because I am not sure if you are being serious or not. Are you saying that PS/Sony fans ignore GOW? Like in a serious manner? I mean it is one of the Top 3 Ps/Sony exclusives and you are saying it is ignored? GOW:A got flack because it was not as good as other GOW games but other than that the GOW franchise has NEVER been ignored. And both (GOW and Uncharted) get A LOT of praise...so I am not sure what you are saying or what you mean.

I am just saying that it deserves even more success which it probably would have gotten if it was Xbox exclusive or multiplatform.

As a fan of the series I feel that it could indeed be bigger. But it has done EXCELLENT if you ask me. And also I am not sure why you feel it would have gotten more success as an Xbix exclusive there is zero evidence that it would have been bigger on Xbox than it currently is on PS. Multiplatform yeah more than likely but as an Xbix exclusive I do not see what reason you would have to even think that.

The absence of evidence is NOT the evidence of absence...

God Of War is one of the few PS exclusives which makes Xbox owners feel jealous it sold many more PS3s to Xbox 360 owners than you could imagine. Its easily one of PlayStation's most unique exclusives. And it certainly would have done better with Xbox's more western-games centric audience and bigger NA market where God Of War sells the most.

i have both xbox and playstation and can tell  i don't feel jealous of sony having GOW. i even played and finished all availble GOW games and can say with all honesty,, the game is entertaining but far from phenomenal or groundbreaking imo

Ryse has more in common with Beyond than Heavy Rain, and Beyond is at a 70 metascore. I think Ryse would have performed much better in reviews had they found another way other than constant button presses to reward you for executions. It was an immediate, insurmountable criticism for some people. Like Beyond, all the presentation and story in the world won't make up for core gameplay mechanics that people simply didn't enjoy.

LOL @ calling Ryse a piss poor GoW attempt. I am guessing these people making this comparison have never played Ryse or GoW or maybe both.

An average of 70 and a 8.1 userscore on metacritic and isn't what I consider "bitchstomped."

Anything below 80+ on metacritic is seem as "crap" by most people(not by me though).

The biggest reviewers like IGN and EDGE "bitchstomped" the game.I'm really suprised that the game could reach 70+ on metacritic.

Well it was actually well received by most critics and user scores are very generous.

Hence, that shows the validity to this thread.

no it doesn't, the reviews of beyond don't mean Ryse wasn't crappy or was somehow just mistunderstood. You're still certainly allowed to like the game, but don't pretend that the games reviews were bad for any other reason than issues with the game.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Ryse is a shit game period...Beyond wasn't good, Heavy rain was excellent, not rocket science, anything else is pure spin. Doesn't matter who makes the game a bad game is a bad game and LOL at reviews rating it bad because it was not QD? Ryse story cannot hold a candle to HR or it's characters and choices that had real weight.

An obvious stealth troll attempt to incite a reaction, why didn't OP mention tell tale games that have won numerous awards and are highly reviewed?

While I enjoyed the cinematic story and top notch voice acting, I felt the story wasn't that great. Sure there were a few standout moments and plot twists, but nothing really gripping, or memorable. Everything that was presented I've seen several times in video games, such as revenge, and corruption.

You just described quantic dream's games

I'm not sure whether to take this thread seriously or not...considering that Heavy Rain and Beyond have been reduced to "games that have QTE's".

Anything goes if thats the logic being implemented over here.

In any case, as others have mentioned both Heavy Rain and Beyond got mixed reviews and are regarded by fans differently.

Ryse is pretty much disliked across the board. Critical reviews, user reviews, general consensus on the net etc.

At the end of the day a good game is a good game and a bad game is a bad game. The gaming public usually agrees on whats good and whats not. Either way Ryse isnt getting praised, doesnt matter about the marketing, its platform or its genre.

Heavy Rain has an 87 Meta. Definitely not mixed.

Beyond, I agree (although a 70 shouldn't be considered "mixed" either - but hey, that's the rule of the Metascore).

These are the rules of metacritic.
(1) A game is either inflated when it is exlusive, unless a war is happens.
(2) Incase of a war, a game is rated horribly at the start but eventually recovers.
(3) Anything below 75 is considered Mixed since gamers only know 8-10 scale of gaming.
(4) Why are you on this horrible site.
(5) For heaven sakes they allowed the Toronto Sun in.
(6) Seriously get off it.

Now I will say Heavy Rain was entertaining but Beyond was just a clusterfuck, not many praise it. Infact I know some sony centric fanatics that hate it, not here sadly.
