The Walmart here had plenty in stock when I went in the evening. They also had plenty of the of the NSMBU bundle. Also, the clerk working had no clue that it had even came out, or that it even existed (or that the Wii-u is even a thing)...

Point of the story, some Wal-mart staff is undertrained and unkownledgable of the products they help to sell. Then again, I'm in Canada so employee standards at Wal-mart are considerably higher.

I've never met a person who didn't know what a Wii U was. It's always "that new Nintendo".

True enough, but he did have plenty of knowledge of the ps4 and xbone.  It's troublesome that he didn't know of the wiiu's existence, both because he sells them and because he's a gamer.

The clerk at Target tried to sell me a "modem" to go online with the Wii U even though you most certainly don't need one.  Maybe he likes scamming grandmothers picking up systems for loved ones.

one of the most decent videogames stores in my country has this facebook page where they post pictures of every person that buys the recent release, I can say it is quite comparable to a call of duty launch but the best i have seen so far was the gta5 launch.

Something i found weird was that there were zero pictures of people buying the bundle, but reading trough some comments you see people asking when will it be available and they say until monday, which is also weird because they usually have everything on launch day if not sooner

Hopefully it sells like this until Hyrule Warriors is released. Probably why they did this until July 31st because supposively Hyrule Warriors is coming out August

XBOX ONE/Wii U/3DS/PC

RIP Iwata 12/6/1959-7/11/2015

Thanks for all the great memories!

Well I dunno if we have the bundle here but I went to a store in my country that was the equivalent of what wallmart is in America and we had 3 Mk8 in stock but they only had a total of 8 WiiU games all up. So 3 of those 8 were MK8, Im not sure if they stocked low or it's sold good. For comparison they had over 40 or so PS4 games and about the same amount of X1 games.

Around the Network

It is the 5th best-selling item on the gamestop bestsellers.

This Bundle is sold out all around the Bay area (Sunnyvale, San Jose, and San Francisco). Called around to try and pick one up for my nephew, but had to eventually order it online off Amazon

It was almost sold out at EB Games, but at my Walmart they had about 15 MK8 Wii U's.

nice

A "gamer" who didn't know Nintendo released a new console? One of those Madden/FIFA/CoD only "gamers?"

Hope the WiiU gets a significant boost from MK8!

Going to be interesting to see the May and June NPD figures. Mario Kart 8 should have decent legs too.

It wouldn't surprise me if they have a couple of unannounced games to release in June and July to keep hardware sales momentum going until August when we'll probably see Bayonetta 2 and Hyrule Warriors being released.
