Forums - Nintendo - Can Nintendo still surprise people at E3?

We won't know until E3, otherwise it wouldn't be a surprise.

But I'm leaning towards yes.

Bets:

1. If the Wii U sells closer to 10 million LTD by 1/3/2015 I win. If it sells closer to 9.5 million LTD by 1/3/2015 OfficerRaichu15 wins (winner gets 2 weeks of avatar control)--Lost.

Nintendo are attending E3, they're just not having a traditional conference. They're having a Digital Event instead which means they're not restricted to having just an hour onstage to squeeze everything in.

As for surprises, there was a French bloke that said recently that Nintendo have another Bayonetta 2-esque Megaton to unleash. I've got a feeling that it's going to be similar to the Bayonetta 2 situation in that it's going to be another collaboration with a high profile indie developer. My money would be on Crytek...and if it's TimeSplitters 4 the Nerd-Rage will be hilarious lol

Who knows, perhaps Nintendo are going to make their GameCube conversion software available to third parties and we'll see the 2 GameCube TimeSplitters games coming to the Wii U too after being given the Wind Waker HD treatment. It's only going to take a small team of 4 or 5 developers (at most) 4 or 5 months to do from start to finish, they'll probably make a profit after 50-75K worth of sales. Easy money.

If it isn't Crytek then I reckon it'll be a Suda51 game.

I think so. MK8 has me on the brink of buying a Wii U, something huge like a new Metroid would push me into buying it.

Impressing people is good enough considering the situation the Wii U is in right now. Nintendo should save their biggest surprises for next gen.

I thought Nintendo wasn't going to attend E3 this year. How is Nintendo supposed to surprise us if they aren't going to be at E3?

no sales, no gamez, no E3. Hard times for us, Ninty fans

Who honestly saw titles like Bayonetta 2, Fire Emblem v Shin Megami Tensei, X, Wonderful 101 or Hyrule Warriors coming?

Given Nintendo had already effectively revealed their hand before last E3, I think there will be some surprises this year. Nothing Earth-shattering, but they're in a better position, particularly when it comes to announcements that will only launch next year.

Well Nintendo certainly knows how to surprise people in both bad and good ways.

Yes, they've surprised before, just not at E3. I don't see how anyone could say they aren't able to surprise us. As for will people care, I think the ext few weeks of console sales and MK8 sales should show us some indication.

A Zelda like our dreams will surprise us more than anything new or rehash announced.
Crystal Chronicles 2 (a real one with more dungeons)
A new 3D Metroid
A new action adventure game in space made by retro in the vein of Mass Effect style.
A new Star Wars game, one like Rogue Squadron and another one in the action adventure genre.
Some IP's bought back from RARE like Banjo Threeie
REmake 2, REmake 3 and a new Resident Evil in the vein of Revelations/REmake/RE4
Diddy Kong Racing 2

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe

You think EA is going to make a WiiU game?
