Really depends who finshes first and second in Group A. The #1 of Group A (Brazil, Mexico, Cameroon, Croatia) will play the #2 of Group B (Spain, the Netherlands, Chili, Australia) and the #2 of Group A will play Group B's #1. So if Brazil finishes 2nd, you obviously want to avoid them so you also wanna finish second. If Brazil finishes #1 in their group, you also obviously wanna finish #1 to avoid them which would lead to an intense match between the Netherlands and Chili.

There's no risk. Whoever they face in the next round they will have to deal with in whatever way they can. Brazil aren't exactly special either. Players don't think like this, they want to shine and go down in history.
