So Sony releases yet another sub 30fps port on the Vita again. I understand other devs but Sony? It's their product yet every game they've ported they've put less effort than pretty much every other. What's worse is they're the only one to put sub 30fps PS2 games on the system, and the Vita is supposed to be easier to develop for than the PS2.

Metal Geaer Solid HD and FF10 HD atleast run @30fps with no framedrops.

The PS Vita is simply to weak i'm afraid, Bordelands 2 shows this aswell.

The difference between the Vita and Ps3 is much larger than it was between PSP and Ps2.

Killzone Mercenary does look close to as good as Killzone 3, one of the best looking PS3 games.

But I have this game on both PS3 and Vita and the Vita version isn't nearly as bad as Digital Foundry makes it seem to be like. It is quite playable.

Killzone, Uncharted, and Assassin's Creed show some developers have done a better job at taking advantage of the hardware.

I'm not convinced Borderlands 2 was the best Vita could do. Past PS2 ports on Vita have also been better.

These games were build from the ground, not ports... The Vita has good hardware but top smartphones have already overtaken it powerwise, I'd guess.

God of War 1 and 2 aren't PS3 games, they're PS2 games, on a system that, while not as powerful as the PS3, is much more powerful than the PS2 and easier to develop for.

Doesn't matter, a studio with more experience probably would have likely created a better performing port of Borderlands 2.

For example, Blue Point did a great job with PS2 ports on Vita. However, the same can't be said for the studio that handled the GoW port on Vita.

They should have sacrificed some effects to atleast be close to 30... like cut down on the rain effects and the lighting and fire when kratos swings his blades.

I'm playing AC liberation right now and while the frame rate on that sucks as well, it looks better than god of war, is open world and most of the time has more characters on screen than god of war does.

I dont understand how a PS2 game cant even do 30fps on the vita.

Sony clearly doesn't give a sh** about the system or else they'd put more effort into these ports they're churning out.

The Vita version is likely a direct port of the ps3 GoW collection, they didn't remaster the ps2 games all over again for the Vita. And since it runs at 720p/60 fps on ps3 and the Vita has about 25% of the raw graphics power of the ps2, 30 fps at half the resolution makes sense.

If you take a game like Rayman Origins on the Vita for example that's a great running port, but only because the game already runs at 1080p/60 fps on ps3. And since the Vita runs at a resolution that's about 1/4 that of 1080p the game runs great.

Maybe if the Vita hade released a year later it could have packed more powerfull hardware, and we would have seen more ports and therefore games on Vita.

I'm surprised how solidly the PS3 version ran. Bluepoint are very good at what they do...

... which is why I'm surprised Sony didn't contract them in again to develop the Vita version. They did a bang-up job with PSABR on Vita; and they handled the original source code for God of War HD. Seems perfect.

Sanzaru did a great job with the Sly Collection, though, so I'm not sure why this one turned out quite so badly.

The frame rate on the vita version is horrible. The ps2 version and the vita version hardly looks different.
