Ah, I see. I didn't catch the entire commercial. Thought it was a Nintendo ad. They should drop it to $99, the og 3ds to $119, and the xl to $169.

How can you be this sure? You alreadly believe that they will announce a remodel after less than a year of 2DS. This can be anything, and if they really intend to shift more units, this is the most lacking feature of the console so far(hardware wise, obviously).

I doubt a price cut coming to the XL ... Nintendo needs the profit margins on their declining hardware sales to be able to sniff a profit/minimize losses this fiscal year. This is also why there probably won't be a Wii U price cut this year. 

If they do anything perhaps they will bring the "free game" promotion from Japan to North America/Europe to add value to the package (probably from a choice of games they've already made a profit on, like Animal Crossing and Luigi's Mansion 2).

Because it makes far more sense to put out a revision that not only reduces costs but increases its apparent value. Adding a whole new section of controls will definitely increase costs as well as create a division between games. It simply doesn't make sense.
